Hi, just was wondering if someone could clear up a few things for me (pretty foggy in here),

Firstly, I assume that using a dual coil head (on my protank aero) would result in less heat through each coil than using a single coil head (assuming constant voltage), Is this correct?

Also, My understanding with resistance is that using a lower ohm head will result in a higher output (wattage) for a given voltage. Is this correct?

Obviously there is more to it than this though, as i believe there is a clear difference to vaping a 1.8 at 3.5v compared to say a 2.2 at 4v or whatever the equivalent would be.

Finally, although i think theoretically it shouldn't make a difference, but to get the maximum coil temperature possible, would I be better off using a low or high resistance coil with my VV device?

Dual coils will give you a warmer to hotter vape and more throat hit if using nicotine. I'm not sure if it would make each coil cooler, it should make each coil equally as hot. Lower ohms does mean higher watts. It's hard to say what's better lower or higher since some coils can't handle high voltage as well as others even if both have the same resistance.

Thank you, Although I don't see how each coil could be as hot on a dual coil compared to a single coil voltages being equal. I am only interested here in the heat of the actual coil, not the quality of the vape. Im using a provari, with a protank 2, what combo of coil and voltage would give max coil heat (wattage) without being in the danger zone of burning the coil (not concerned about burning the juice)

Dual coils generally require higher voltage than does a single coil. A dual coil reading 1.5 ohms is actually two 3.0 ohm coils running together. However, the bottom line is to use the voltage which gives YOU the best vaping experience.

I've never experienced any benefits to using dual coils over single coils in clearomizers or cartomizers. In fact I've always preferred single coils.

While the temp of the actual coil in a dual coil set up wouldn't necessarily be higher, the amount of wire mass within equal space with equal airflow, etc.. for all practical matters, generally results in a warmer vape...

From a purely theoretical, yet reasonably practical, standpoint, to get max coil heat on a Provari you would want a single coil... reason being: Provari has a 15watt limit... Pumping 15watts to one coil will result in a higher coil temp than splitting that wattage between two coils (7.5 watts each)... all other factors being relatively equal and given Provari's Ω and amp limits. But you're kind of comparing apples to oranges...

With that being said... If you're trying to shape your vape a bit, its probably better to ask what you're trying to accomplish.. Talking volts, ohms and watts is really only part of the equation.

Oh... and as far as Max temp of your coil without popping it?... that really depends on the quality of the actual coil, so that's a variable I won't even attempt to consider... so you're on your own there! But I will say, its probably way passed enjoyable on any stock coil....
