I am looking for an ecig that is not realistic looking. More like the screwdriver, as in, could in no way be mistaken for an analogue.
It needs to be compatable with the 901 atomizers, produce a nice vapour, and have good battery life, Website that it could be brought or a shop that sells it in the NW (Manchester) area. I know there are a few to choose from but respectthe views of you guys, after lurking here for a while and just getting my 901, i would like, for the house and car, a real "beast" of a PV.

If you want something like the Screwdriver , Why not get a screwdriver ?

The original Screwdriver electronic Cigarette kit. / Totally Wicked e-Liquid / Electronic Cigarette e-liquid shop

ecigscrewdriver.com

Janty Stick is another option in the UK, standard takes an 801 (pen ) atomizer but you can get adaptors for a 901.

Janty Stick Set - Janty Stick

then of course there is the prodigy ( although a waiting list ) than can run 6 volts or your usual 3.7 volt from e-cigs.co.uk.

Prodigy Personal Vaporiser

and ofcourse , you can always make your own ;)

I'm actually though looking for something that looks like a cigarette and all these look space age, not remotely like a cigarette.

Whoops sorry. I thought this was a response to my earlier post looking for a 'realistic' cigarette. Sorry, I'm new, that's my excuse.

hehe no probs ,

most people that have vaped for a while have moved to non0cig looking devices like those i have mentioned.
Mainly because those that 'look' like a real cig just don't perform well enough for a analogue replacement. Batteries are the issue there , those that come with a normal kit just don't have the balls to work that atomizer like it should be worked. ecig batteries don't last long in runtime or lifetime and are expensive to replace on a regular basis.

I recommend a 901 as a starter e-cig , because it's a great little workhorse for what it is without costing a fortune and you can get replacements from most places.

If you stick with vaping , you will realise the downfalls of a normal e-cig and trust me you will be moving to one of the devices ( or their variants) in the end ;)

So in youor opinion, (and after looking at them all) i am leaning to either the Prodigy or the Janty Stick. Which one would people reccomened and for what reasons? If I was forced to make an impuse decision i think I would go for the Prodigy, but want to make an informed decision

Unless you want the big volts, I recommend a 901 version Screwdriver - it has one advantage for you in Manchester - it's made in the UK and any problems and repairs will be really quickly sorted by trog.

My review of the SD can be found here:

4 months with an SD - and various atomisers - e-Smokers-forum.com · The place to discuss e-Smoking and the e-Cigarette.

hmm , well if you want a standard 3.7volt device ( all your normal ecigs are 3.7volt ) that is gonna last a lifetime and has stood the test of time , go for the SD.

If you wanna go standard 3.7volts and wanna look pretty while your doing it with flashy lights and usb connectivity but don't mind buying a new unit in up to 6 months , buy a Jantystick.

If you want to go up to 5volts/6volts specifically then the prodigy is for you. ( You can still use that with a single 18650 3.7volt too) the prodigy is the newest device from the list but it's made by a very well respected supplier ( puresmoker.com ) .

If it was a choice between strictly the prodigy and the Jantystick , I would certainly go with the prodigy , or even wait a little for the 'protege' from the same manufacturer ( smaller 3.7v version of the prodigy)

I've have the Screwdriver for nearly a year and I've never had any issues with it until recently I replaced the switch in it myself ( simple task ) and apart from that it's been my main workhorse for at home.

nobody mentioned the GGT? you will have the option to vape at 3.7V, 6V and 7.4V (the last one with imeo's new atomiser coming out in the future). and another thing coming is AFS, basically an attachment that will hold your juice so no constant topping up).

i only have janty dura-c and GGT, but can say that there a lot of positive GGT reviews, just check the GG forum.

cheers.

after 2 weeks wth the 501 I'm already thinking about my next device, so I'm waiting for the janty cameo to come out before I make a decision, the pic looks like it could be the nicest looking device on the market (doesn't look like a tool or a prop from star trek) and I would hope janty would give it some real selling points over the JS. I think it's due out next month (although I could be imagining that).

personally i find it quite cool to be able to talk to the original manufacturer of the GG and get prompt responses. where else do you get that?

You get the same level of service from Trogg, the manufacturer of the Screwdriver. He has a forum on his site and from what I've seen is always very quick to respond to queries. He's also in the UK which, imo at least, is a bonus.

I'm a new vaper too and though I admit I was cautious because it cost so much I'm very glad I took the plunge and bought an SD 2 weeks ago. Have been very satisfied with its performance, whereas the 901 kit I'd bought, though it was nice, soon irritated me with it's lack of battery life and it was hit and miss getting a decent vape from it.

Just my thoughts. :)

everywhere !!

Trog with the SD
Ludo with Janty
Steve with the prodigy

Just about every mod type device currently available has it's manufacturer behind it for support and advice :)

yeah normal ecigs are a different story ( 901 , 510 etc ) apart from intellicig of course..

oh and here is a nice round up of what the GG and the man behind it are all about : http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/outside/34131-about-gg.html#post523145
