The Eleaf iStick 40w temp control mod is in a league of its own. With a 2600mAh battery, a small footprint and the capability of temperature limiting titanium and nickel coils, this mod is a powerhouse.

The iStick is so popular almost everyone carries it. You'll pay a little more in a brick and mortar store but you get it right away. I usually have 4 days shipping when I order stuff online.
I book marked this and will think on it. What does the temperature control do? This is advanced for my current vape experience. Lol. I am good on working with adjusting voltage or wattage, but now this twist with temperature control I will need a quick lesson so I understand what I would do with this. I like the price on this website so I'm interested.
They also make a steel tank replacement for the Nautis. It's not very expensive. Will be handy if you accidentally drop your rig on a hard surface. Here is one example, but there are different designs. I think I saw one with a cute snowflake pattern once?

The iStick TC 40w works as a normal mod.
I have little interest in temp control. Never say never, but for the time being... I can do without messing with my head. Besides, the technology is new and it's glitchy too.
If I was vaping at 20+ watts, then I'd be there in a shot.
Did you see my comment about the size comparisons?![]()
I know they might be a little more expensive at the fest, but might be worth the few extra bucks to get it right away. Lol.
Another thing to consider is battery life. If you are going to go with an internal battery, the higher wattage mods have bigger batteries. They will last longer between charges and extend battery life. It will likely extend the life of the entire mod, since you will be runnung it at a lower than max wattage. You can run a 10W mod at 10W and charge it twice a day and burn it up in 6 months. Or you can run a 50W mod at 10W and charge it every 3 days and never burn up the circuitry. It may last for years that way.I was wondering whether I would need something like this considering I doubt I would ever need to get this high in wattage
In general, Clo, TC is a means of not burning a wick or juice so it tastes foul. They use a special wire for the coil, either nickel or titanium, instead of the regular old Kanthal. This wire has the property of changing its resistance to electrical current with temperature. All metals do this to some extent, but Ni and Ti do it a *lot* and very evenly. The mod then uses this change in resistance while you have the fire button pressed to gauge the temperature of the coil wire. If the coil gets to the temp you have set on the TC circuitry, the mod cuts back the power to the coil so as to not overheat it. Theoretically, this prevents the coil from burning out your wick if it gets vaped dry, or getting so hot it makes your juice taste burnt (assuming you set the temp low enough so neither of these happen.) This is, IMHO, and actual improvement in the way mods function and, when you get a mod where the TC works well-- this is not all of them, TC is yet very new-- it's a godsend. It may be less useful to a person who vapes in your power range. Having it doesn't matter, necessarily, unless you choose to use it. All TC mods are also regular old VW mods when set in the proper mode. It is something to consider, but perhaps not necessary for you. No reason not to have it, if you can get it conveniently, as the price is not greatly different, and you never know: one day... you might want it. But for you it probably shouldn't be a deal breaker, either.I book marked this and will think on it. What does the temperature control do? This is advanced for my current vape experience. Lol. Say no more....this is perfect for what you want..I currently have a Smok 1300vv battery that I use with my Nautilus mini's and Aspire ET-S tanks and I very much like this set-up. But this weekend we are having a VapeJam at the racetracks here in OKC and I am sure there will be many vendors there. I am thinking about getting a smaller box style battery that will work well with my nautilus mini tanks. I think the box style will work better for me when I go out because they look like they will sit upright and not fall over at the slightest shake of the table etc. lol. I don't need a massive amount of bells and whistles, but if anyone can suggest a good one that is smaller that can still easily fit in my jeans pocket that is not terribly expensive, I will be on the look-out at this Vapejam to buy one. Thanks!
I was wondering whether I would need something like this considering I doubt I would ever need to get this high in wattage especially with my current tanks and not sure I need temperature control or how it works anyway. Lol. But it did have a good price on the website. I'm leaning toward the 30w iStick at the moment but I think I will go to VapeJam and see what vendors have available and at what prices, and if none have what I want then I will get one of these online. I know they might be a little more expensive at the fest, but might be worth the few extra bucks to get it right away. Lol. I kind of like supporting my local B&M's now and then with gear since I won't buy their e-juice.![]()
I approve. Blue iStick 30w. My choice too!Oops. I sort of just randomly found myself in a Vape shop when I went into town today, and sort of didn't wait for VapeJam. Lol. Shinyitis in the form of a new 30w iStick...in blue. New toys are so fun. But that's ok, now I can focus on other things to buy at VapeJam this weekend. Lol!
