Hi

I'm new, as you can all see.

I just thought i'd say a little about myself and then I just one question really. if any one could help me.

I have always suffered from addictions all of my life, from food (I used to be 25 stone and am now 15 stone), [edited out drug talk]. I have a very addictive personality and get addicted to things very easily.

However I have battled all of my above addictions and seem to have very good willpower when I get my mind in the right place. My last addiction to battle (apart from Caffeine) is Nicotine!! I am a heavy 20 a day smoker and have recently purchased a e-cig and can safely say I haven't had a real cigarette all weekend or today. So my burning question is.

Will I find a noticeable difference in my fitness? As I am not sure if it will help as I'm still intaking nicotine through water vapours instead of smoke. I just wondered from others experience if they have found a change in their fitness and lung capacity.

thanks in advance guys.

Welcome to ecf.
And a resounding YES to your question. By NOT inhaling all of the other 4000 chemicals known to be in cigarettes, your body will start to repair any damage done to it.
Expect to start smelling and tasting again very soon. You will see overall improvement very shortly. And you may even wonder why you were ever so cruel to yourself by smoking in the first place.
But I know, addiction is a terrible thing. But the good news is that nic is no more addicting then caffeine.

:)

Most will see an increase in health and fitness. While you're still getting nicotine, you're NOT getting tar, particulate, or carbon monoxide (among hundreds of other harmful substances). Your lungs will slowly get rid of the crud, and you'll feel like you can breathe easier, and that you have more energy. It's a common positive for most members here.

Hello & welcome Browny62 :)

A resounding yes from me as well.

I used to be a very heavy smoker & could hardly walk up a flight of stairs without getting out of breath. I can now briskly walk up a steep hill with out any problems at all. And that is just for starters as I've had so many other health improvements since swapping smoking for vaping :)

Awesome and you are from Cornwall I see, my Girlfriends family are from that part of the world and we love it there. Beautiful place. slightly off topic but the crab is incredible there too.

Yes I'm in not so sunny Cornwall - I don't eat crab though as I'm Vegetarian :D

Out of interest, what type of e-cig have you bought?

Its definitely a place to visit (in the summer), I'd imagine it is very windy in the winter months.

I bought the ecig wizard. with a peach flavoured e-liquid. my girlfriend has bought the tobacco flavour and we bought a melon one to share. which one are you using?

Hello and welcome to ECF.... First I want to say that I admire you for overcoming all that you have in your life and having the courage to talk about it. That is huge in recovery from any addiction... talking about it. Second, to answer your question from a personal standpoint, I have noticed a huge increase in lung capacity and overall new zest for life. I feel better, I look better, I'm happier.... I have more energy. The list of pluses just goes on and on. Just know that you have this forum as an active online support group that will be there for you to help with any questions you might have... personal achievements you reach.... When you hit that 30 day free of analogs... let us know... we'll celebrate with you!! Good luck in your quest to become analog free.... let us know how you're making out too!!

I mainly use a Vamo for at home & a Vision Spinner for when out & about. I've lately been buying all of my e-liquids from Joose-Juice as they are a bargain & really good. 10ml bottles for £1.49 & BOGOF 30mls for £7.25 -

Shop Home - Items - Joose Juice E-Liquids

What model e-cig did you get from ecig wizard?

thanks, I have no problem talking about it, I've been through a fair few addictions in my life but have always managed to overcome them somehow. Mainly through the people I have had around me to be honest.

I'm very positive about my new ecig and I'm looking forward to hitting the 30 days mark, then the 3 month then 6 month and hopefully many months and years after that.

That was a good one to go for - far better than a ciggie lookalike that many start off with.

Here is a list of other good UK e-cig & e-liquid vendors plus some non affiliated discount codes -

http://allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/1148/cigarette-liquid-vendors-discount-codes?page=1

Joose-Juice is the cheapest for good juice & Myepak about the overall cheapest for e-cigs & accessories, at the moment.
