Hey guys! This is my first post. :)

So, you guys are what I'd call "hard core" vapors. You know, refilling nicotine by hand and I even read about syringes and three-part or two-part vaporizers...

So I'm a new new new newbie. I'd really like to keep things as simple as possible. A lot of smoking is psychological for me, so though I've read a lot of advice is to "get over the 'has to look like a cigarette'" comment a lot, this is one that I kind of need. I love social smoking, and I love smoking in general. I need vapor, and taste isn't a big deal to me.

So I went with Green Smoke. I bought it, got it, and have been smok- no, ok, "vaping" (although I dislike that word, reminds me of 'vapid') for two weeks. I actually really like it. And the battery life doesn't bother me, because I rarely travel a lot and I got two batteries in one kit.

I have noticed one thing-- inconsistencies. I've read about this. My first filter (you know.. the thing.. with the atomizer..) was a dud. The others, though, were great! It felt like a cigarette, it tasted pretty good, and it looked like a cigarette. But now, some are starting to whistle as I smoke it, which is distracting. And I realized how expensive the refills are. I do love the two piece design, and I love the vapor, but I'm worried that after my 30 day warranty runs out, I will have realized that I am having continuous problems with it.

I'm not necessarily looking for the "cheap" way out, or worried about being broke (I already spent half a paycheck on this dodad) so if you could just give me some advice-- if I WERE to replace it.. What would a newbie, who wants it the easy way and wants it to feel and look like a cigarette, replace the Green Smoke with? Do they all whistle? Do they all have short battery lives (the ones that look like cigarettes, that is)? Are they all around 12 dollars for 4 refill filters (that's what I'm calling them)?

Thanks for any and all of your help!! You really are a lovely bunch of people, and I can't wait to get to know you!

I suggest a 510 kit. They run about $30-35 and most come with 5 pre-filled cartridges. I also suggest a box of Boge standard resistance (3.0 ohm) cartomizers to make it a 2 piece unit. Unfortunately, some whistle and some don't. Try drawing slower than you would if it was a cigarette. You also need a bottle of juice to fill the cartomizers as they are empty/blank.

I bought one of those cheap "look like a cigarette" kits and every one whistled. I think it was the mouthpiece but someone here on the forum suggested that it was the air vent between the battery and the atomizer (I think). Anyway, they never stopped whistling so I shelfed it and bought an ego. The 510 is a very good little PV (personal vaporizer) but everybody says the battery only last 1 - 2 hrs depending on how you vape. That wasn't for me but I have a 510 passthrough and I really love it. A passthrough is an e cig with a cord and USB connection you can plug into your PC or wall adapter so you don't have to worry about it dieing on you. The vapor whites out my PC screen. I love it! If battery life isn't a problem for you than a 510 kit is what I would recommend also. For good vapor AND long battery life you might want to check out the ego or the Riva. They are almost identical. My Riva was only $30 with 2 batteries plus a bunch of other stuff. And as JD1 mentioned, YouTube is a great resource for learning everything about e cigs, juice, mods and accessories.

No, they all don't whistle and yes, the cheap ones that look like cigarettes have low mah ratings. The higher the mah the longer the battery will last between charges. ValueVapor has prefill cartomizers for $1.79 ea. Don't know how good they vape or taste though. This is just an example of what one vendor charges. Empty ones that you fill yourself are $1.59 each. I would return the one you have while you still can. Good hunting.
