Hello everyone, I need some help with the Griffin. I get dry hits and my ZMAX keeps showing ohm reading after every other hit and won't fire off.
This is my first rba and first attempt at oxidizing mesh. I will give a bit information of what I have done so far.
It took me a lot of time to roll the mesh small enough to fit the hole since the hole is very very small. Mesh is a tight fit, then I kept holding the mesh on top of my zippo lighter (I don't have any torch lighters) until slightly red and quenched it in water multiple times getting every part of the mesh a few times. I couldn't get the mesh to light bright red because of low heat maybe that is the problem.
Then I soaked the mesh in some juice and light it on fire until it went out by itself. Then I rolled the coil around the mesh but I kept getting low ohm warning from my ZMAX. After fiddling with the coils it fires once but won't fire again. To make it fire I have to fiddle with the coil every single time.
After each time I move the coil a bit, my zmax would read 1.3ohms and fire but if I try to fire it again right after, it will give me 1.2 or lower ohm display and won't fire until I mess with the coil again, very weird.
I am guessing mesh isn't oxidized properly and shorts out but it looks all black like it should.
What do you experts think ? Will oxidizing with a torch lighter until bright red stop giving me burned taste and work like it should ?
