Last night was chicken fajitas and beer. Tonight will be lentil soup and black bean veggie burgers.

For my fur babes, chicken hind quarters mixed with brown rice, scrambled egg, zucchini, carrots and cauliflower. When I went shopping yesterday, I found 8 lbs of frozen chicken hind quarters on sale for 79 cents a lb -- can't beat that -- cheaper and healthier than dog food, and they love it.

Those recipes do sound interesting, I may try the tomato gravy the next time I'm making meatloaf. Redeye gravy with ham and biscuits, sounds interesting too, and something my husband might be willing to try.

Hey MK, do we have a recipe thread for sharing recipes?

Saphira, if you make a recipe thread, I'm on the lookout for flea-repelling dog biscuits for my fur babes. It rarely freezes where I am, so we've got a huge flea population here. I kill them in the house by constantly steam-cleaning my carpeting. I've heard that putting vinegar in their water bowl helps, but they don't like that. So, if anyone has something to share, please and thank you.

Ha ha, you two have me in stitches. I love peanut butter so much that I have to be careful not to choke on it!

A whole wheat peanut butter sandwich with raw honey and sprinkled with real cocoa is a high-protein, antioxidant-rich, nutritious meal. That's awesome ladies! I just emptied my p'butter jar yesterday, or I would third it. As for the chicken noodle soup, walk out into your yard and pick some weeds, preferably dandelion greens or purslane-- that'll power it up! Purslane, the little weed with purple stems and roundish dk green tiny leaves (grows in the sidewalk cracks) is one of the richest sources of omega 3's in the world.
