Hi guys,

I just starting using E-Cigarettes about a month ago. I currently use "Safe Cig" and "Premuim" brands and while the safe cig international flavors taste pretty good, they are not providing that punch that regular cigarettes do and seems like I am puffing for half an hour to get the same nicotene fix (I use 16mg cartomizers and my real cheater cigarettes are Ultra Light 72s). I still cheat a couple times a day especially in the morning with regular cigarettes. Maybe I just need to toughen up too and use a little more discipline.

After finding these forums and doing some reading up, I actually feel like quite the fool for the money I wasted on those 140 dollar starter kits. It seems from the reading I did that I would do a lot better with KGO. I was thinking about getting SLB KGO Starter Kit. It is my understanding that I can mix and match parts with other vendors also with these kits? These type of kits also interest me since they seem really customizable and could satisfy my tinkering addiction too.

Thank you for any help. :)

Welcome to ECF :) Fellow Californian

You could try uping the Nicotine MG amount, would be the first step I would think. I've got 24mg and 18mg in different flavors, both keep nic cravings far away. I'm used to get a bit of a head buzz from nicotine so I might try one of these 26mg I've seen around. I was a moderate - heavy smoker though of NAS Blues.

If you buy an eGo kit I'm pretty certain anything made for eGos will work across the board. Looking at the threads and whatnot on that link the battery looks just like a standard eGo style. So yeah, they allow major customization of parts.

Hi and welcome to ECF, you come to the right place to learn what E-Cigs are all about. sounds like you been reading a bit, I am new my self about 45 days or so. I suggest you keep on reading and asking :) I went with the KGO to start with and for me I'll just say it did the trick, I stopped cold turkey after close to 2 packs a day for over 30 years.

Take a look here you might want to include some 2pcs 2.0ohm LR atomizer these also come with the Hoosier kit and i think they are a must have to try out juices.

I'm sure the experts will be along shortly to help you out, good luck...

Sounds like you are doing your homework and headed the right direction. The KGO would be a big step up over what you have and it is a good intermediate step. Get some LR cartomizers with it to fill with some juice you buy and you should be good to go. The KGO has a 510 connection which is really just the threads so you will be able to interchange anything with a 510 thread. The KGO just has a little stronger battery and a little higher voltage which sounds like you could use. Keep reading, you are headed the right way. Good luck!

Hello, I'm a noob too. I've been trying to quit analoges for a long long time. I used the mini's for about a year off and on and had no success. In the mean time I tried patches, gum, losenges, etc... Then one day while on YT I came accross an ad for the "ego C". I had no idea of any of these types of manual battery PV's so I started researching and ended up with a Joye ego T it was the cheapest and easiest to get ( I thought at the time). I love it! I am still using analoges but not nearly as much as I had for 30 years. down to just a couple a day. Soon I will take the big leap. Good luck to you! Continue to read this forum as this is the most complete and fun forum I have found so far!

Hi, and welcome! With some persistence you will undoubtedly solve this minor problem, and there are a lot of nice folks here who are eager to help!

I have a couple of encouraging ideas for you:
1. A couple cigs a day? You're already succeeding. Complete success will require only minor adjustments to your thinking and your kit. Chin up!
2. Weak e-cigs just don't vaporize very much juice, so they don't deliver the nicotine as fast as better rigs. When I went from Blu ecigs (3-4 watts) to a higher power mod (8-10 watts) I was overdosing on equivalent strength juice. You'll get it dialed in with some trial and error, and you won't have to spend a half an hour to get your dose.

Good luck, and lean on the forum for ideas. Share your success story, too, when you get past the first act. :)

did you get the LR cartomizers?

For sure :)

Thanks Badmotivator,
I do feel a lot better just going from 20 a day to 1 or 2. Pretty soon none.

I get the added pressure of making sure I quit the cheaters, since my boss wants to put how I quit smoking in our company newsletter's health section. I should see if Dark City Vapor will give me a discount if I name drop lol.

You sound exactly like myself. I recently bought an eGo system (similar to the KGO) and love it. A few suggestions though. Don't bother with the T or C tank setup. I bought the ego C and the tanks do a horrible job of delivering juice. Got a lot of dry burns. I have recently started buying a cartomizer called the Vision Extreme from GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more and absolutely love them. They wick well, rarely leak, and the taste of juices comes thru very clean. They also hold a good amount of juice so I can just vape away. Like yourself I'm a tinkerer and any 510 setup like you and I have mentioned has a great deal of parts available to try out.

As far as the nicotine I had to start with 24mg juices to stop with cheater cigarettes myself. After about a month of that I can vape down to 12mg and still be fine.

I am in the same boat! Started with a very cheap PV. Almost thought it was a lost cause! Then I picked up and ego-c. Love it! I don't have any issues, other than a minor leak, which I think is a result of me flooding the atty. I too still have 1-2 cheaters a day, which I think is more habbit than "need". Just don't enjoy the stinky sticks like I thought I used to!

Hi all

Another newbie here. I live in the US but am from London and as a flight attendant get to go there every week. They're a lot more forward thinking about vaping and I picked up a disposable vapstick in a pharmacy and really liked it. When I got back to Boston I ordered something called Hello Jewels. I did really well for a couple of days and was happily vaping away and didn't have an analog for three days. Now about 10 days on I don't feel like I'm getting the same sort of hit and am sneaking in three or four analogs a day. I was a 2 pack a day girl and really want to stop analogs altogether.

I think maybe I need a higher spec PV. I don't mind if it's expensive as I'm spending so much on analogs I figure it'd pay for itself. I was even looking at Provaris but it looks a bit "manly" and heavy. I'm trying to do as much research as I can but there's so much info and a whole new language to learn that I'm getting stuck.

There's a Ecig place in MA that I'm planning on heading to this week. Any top recs? Like I said I don't mind it being on the expensive side. I need something that's easy to pack as I fly 4-5 days a week so dripping wouldn't be the sort of thing I'd be into.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

The FIRST thing ya need to do at this point is not count the cigs you smoke, just the ones you don't!

I finally quit those last few pesky cigarettes 11 days ago after vaping for over two years. I thought I still needed an after meal cig and a couple with coffee, plus one or two before bedtime. Prior to vaping, I smoked 2 PAD of ultra lights and sometimes got into the 3rd one.

I put off quitting those last ones thinking I'd suffer the withdrawal pains of quitting smoking. What I found out was that from day one after quitting, there was nothing to it. I have yet to want another one. Yes, I get a moment here and there where a trigger like coffee or after a meal where my brain notifies me that it's time to smoke, but I just laugh and realize it's the old habit and not a physical craving. It's really funny at times. I'm good with vaping and could have dropped those last few any time I wanted to.

I think the key was mentally acknowledging that I didn't really enjoy tobacco anymore. I'd light one up, take a few drags and put it out. They tasted terrible compared to my ecig. Eventually, I realized that I could quit those things and probably not miss them. I was right.

I bought myself a Provari V2 for a quitting tobacco present. A few cartons of cigs that I don't buy now will pay for it and it's a nice present to myself for stopping analogs. 4.2v on a 3 ohm carto gave me the extra powerful vape I needed to completely forget about tobacco.
