For days I read posts on this forum to decide if I wanted to try an e-cig. I was convinced to try it by all the comments from the people that had dropped analogs, so I received my 510 yesterday and started on it right away. I was impressed right away but my biggest test was going to be after meals and mainly this morning with my morning coffee. I am not a breakfast eater, only black coffee and analogs!!! By the way I have been smoking for 47 years and for the last several years have been a chain smoker, about 3 packs a day. Well, this morning I got my cup of coffee and my 510 and vaped away!!! I have not had a craving for an analog!!! I am hooked. Thanks to all of you for this wonderful forum. I really want to quit smoking because my health has been going downhill for some time, especially my breathing, and I would like to stay around to finish seeing my grandchildren grow up and hopefully see some great-grandchildren and possible great-great-grandchildren. I am going to continue reading and taking everything in from this forum.

Congratulations and welcome to the club.

Honestly, if you made it through the "morning after" without a problem, then you are likely one of the lucky ones who can quit analogs all together on the first try with Ecigs. Not everyone can, count your blessings.

But the real challenge is being around other smokers. if you can get through that, you're good to go.

Look forward to your new urges.....shopping for cool stuff.
Get some more juice, extra batteries and atomizers now...

Again, congrats.

Congratulations! Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping and the ECF.
It took me a long time to not do the morning cig.
You said pretty much everyone else smokes in the house, so make sure you don't beat yourself up if you have a smoke. Think of it as how many you are not smoking compared to how many you are, if you do.

I'm very happy for you and wish you all the luck in the world!

I've recently gone to 0 analogs too. But I've decided not to beat myself up. If say, this holiday weekend my friends are smoking and I *really* want a cigarette, I am going to have one and not feel guilty. I said as much to my husband (non-smoker) and he was like, I don't care if you hae one now and then, look at the progress you have made! He's thrilled.

I hope with time all cravings for analogs go away completely. In the meantime be proud of each single analog you didn't smoke!

Congratulations and welcome to the wonderful world of vaping...

I've been analog free for (see banner below) and can't stand the smell of a burning cigarette any longer. If I see someone smoking I detour around them as far as I can get.

Couldn't have said it better!

I was also a lucky one, I was able to quit analogs on day one and count my blessing! I stayed away from other smokers for that weekend and once I got back together with them it was no big thing. I actually had a friend bet me if I ever took a drag I'd be right back. Needless to say I took the bet and did take 2 drags and that was probably one of the worst things I've ever tasted in my life!!

I can't believe I smoked for 2/3 of my almost 45 years and now I see how nasty they are!

Congrats again!

Welcome angel!

I ordered some "bacon and French toast" flavored liquid for mornings and "pizza" flavored for after meals. I haven't got them yet, so I don't know if it'll help. It'll probably just make me hungry!

I've read that it takes 10-15 minutes for nicotine to affect your brain. The "nicotine rush" that people feel first thing in the morning probably isn't due to nicotine, but carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. If you miss the "nicotine rush" in the morning, try supplementing your vape with carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide! (Just kidding). There are also things in cigarette smoke that seem to prolong the effects of nicotine on the brain. You won't be vaping these chemicals, so you may have to vape fairly frequently (chain vape) to prevent coming off the nicotine high.

Congratulations on your resolve, but don't be dissapointed with yourself if it takes time to quit.

Good luck!

Welcome, CountryAngel, and best of luck!
You're in good company here....my NPro was the end of 44 yrs of heavy smoking for me as well, from Day #1. Within a month I could breath again. And smelled better, literally!
You will experience some withdrawals but that's going to just test your resolve. I was unbearably hungry for a couple months. Stay out of the Fridge!
Continue reading, I didn't find ECF forum for a few weeks after I got started, and have still not read everything! Much information is here, finding it is sometimes difficult.
When I joined there were about 5000 members. Do check out the "Tag Cloud" section on the Home Page, down towards the bottom, there are a lot of keyword links there if you have questions on specifics.
It can be trying, but it worked for me!

I have smoked 2 analogs since I got my PV. The first one I took 2 drags, and it made me sick, and the second one was when my ex-wife made me so mad I needed a cigarette to calm the nerves. The second one I smoked almost ALL of it, but was sick for the next few hours. Don't beat yourself up if you have to have an analog, I still consider myself quit even though I have had a few.

It is a lot better to have a few drags in the last month than 3 packs a day I was doing for the last 18 years.

I also feel the juice is the key. I have been through MANY, before I found the one I have stuck it out with.

This is sooooo me. It's been a over a year since I've had an analog. It can happen for you too.
