Here are a few tasting notes from my e-juice bar. Taste is subjective, of course, and something tells me the way I vaped some of these had a huge impact on my enjoyment of them, so I'll include the details of the equipment I used.
High Caliber e-liquid Sampler pack ordered from AltSmoke.com using an eGo-C tank system, 4x 5ml bottles, 50/50 PG/VG @ 18mg nicotine:
Being the first e-juice I tried, I have to say that I was pretty disappointed. Never having vaped before, I was eagerly looking forward to all of these delicious flavors everyone was talking about, but these juices (or my vaping method) left me very underwhelmed.
Cinn-a-bun: a somewhat strong cinnamon flavor, with just the slightest hint of bun.
Pillow Mint: supposed to taste like an Andes mint. Both the chocolate and mint were underwhelming. They were there, though, but not enough to recommend it. Out of the 4, this mediocre juice was in the top half.
Blueberry Frost: I alternate between this and Pillow Mint as my "favorites" out of the pack. A decent, sweet, blueberry taste. Almost full-bodied, almost delicious, but not quite. Do not know what the "frost" part referred to. Being a former menthol smoker, I was hoping for at least a hint of something similar.
Peach Frost: possibly the most limp-wristed peach flavor I've tasted. To me, it was just kind of sweet, kind of similar to the Blueberry Frost, but nothing that really reminded me of peach anything. The "frost" part seemed to be missing here as well.
Vapor production and throat hit on these were pretty decent, though.
I haven't smoked these in my new cartos, which I eventually plan to do. This may or may not change my opinion, but if it does, I'll follow up with any revisions. As of right now, though, I'm not going to recommend any High Caliber juices.
I was a bit disappointed after this. I was thinking that maybe this whole vaping thing might just be a lot of hype. If these juices were a taste of things to come, I couldn't see myself sticking with it very long.
But then my cartomizers came in along with some e-juices that completely restored my faith in vaping.
Alien Visions E-Juice using an eGo-C battery with a Boge 510 3.2 Ohm cartomizer, 6ml sample bottle, 100% VG, 18mg nicotine.
Boba's Bounty: Of course I ordered this after reading all of the gushing reviews. Guess what? They're pretty much right in saying that this e-juice is kind of amazing. Finally I was getting the flavors I was hoping for, and what an interesting flavor it is.
After a day of vaping it, my tastebuds have narrowed it down to a few flavors:
Tobacco. This manifests itself as a kind of raisin-y flavor and scent. I'd describe it as a tabacco-ish rum raisin.
and
Nutella. I swear it reminds me a bit of Nutella or a Ferrero-Rocher. Chocolate and hazlenut.
So basically a tobacco rum raisin chocolate hazlenut juice.
The flavor profile may change with more vaping and maturation, but this is what I'm tasting now and it's seriously delicious. All-day vape for sure.
Vapor production is RIDICULOUS. Throat hit seems a bit milder than the 50/50 PG/VG juices, but still very nice. Very much recommended.
Heather's Heavenly Vapes same equipment as the Boba's Bounty, 70/30, 12mg nicotine.
If you want tons of flavor, this company delivers. This is what I imagined vaping to be.
Gandalf: I love pipe tobacco. The smell & the taste. This juice, however, may take a little getting used to before I'll be able to tell if I like it or not. Not as close to pipe tobacco as some of the reviews I've read say it is, but it definitely does share some similarities. It really doesn't taste of anything I can compare it to, but it's strong, with a bit of a chemically overtone. Slightly sweet, slightly thick, but not cloying flavor. I'll get back to you on this one.
Heavenly Tobacco: Oh my. This juice is delicious. Strangely I'm not getting as much tobacco as I am honey and nuts. And basically those are the most pronounced flavors I've experienced from it so far. Like Boba's Bounty, I can vape this all day long.
Blade Runner: This juice doesn't get much play on the review circuit, it seems, but damn it's delicious. It may even be my favorite right now, and it's currently what I'm vaping as I write this. If you enjoy mint, you can't go wrong here. A perfect balance of strong mint and creamy vanilla. Sweet and refreshing and delicious, it makes me want to eat my cartomizer. Definitely ordering a larger bottle ASAP.
Being 12mg, these don't have quite the throat hit of the stronger nic juices, but the flavor is AMAZING. I cannot recommend Heather's Heavenly Vapes enough, especially if you're new like I am and are expecting tons of deliciousness like you've been reading about in the reviews.
That's all for now. Gorilla Juice from AVE & Vanilla Dream from Heather's coming soon.
