I was given a brand new kit from a friend yesterday.... I was NOT expecting anything like this. He had the whole kit..except the manual. I THOUGHT after doing some research I figured out how to use it. It vaped like a champ and the batteries/cartos also worked on some of my other pen-style units that I had lost the cartos for. Then suddenly, both cartos started to put out a burned flavor last night.
Question 1: How do I PROPERLY fill these weird atomizer/cartomizers? They're not what I typically perceived as a cartomizer.....the two piece design and the open battery where you can see the coil and the rest of it is open space seems so weird compared to what I've been using (A Bloog Maxx Fusion). I was so psyched to have a new kit... I've had so many issues and only had one un-burned carto left for my Bloog kit (I burned out 16 cartos with VG juices clogging and burning).

SO have I now ruined this beautiful device? It's dual coil, correct? Can the liquid be poured directly into the battery chamber? Help!:) ANd how do I get rid of the burned flavor? It's not REALLY burned tasting.... but it's there.

HI JGD! Now is that pic EXACTLY like your kit? The pic shows attys with carts, not cartomizers....Their very different. I'm a cartomizer girl myself attys are a PITA for me. With using attys you need to add 3-4 drops on the bridge THEN add juice to the foam in the mouth piece "cart" Second question for you is there foam in those carts? Look up information on direct dripping. Third, you can infact buy great cartomizers for your kit. Boge 2.0 ohm is a dream combo.

PS your friend gave you a ROCKIN kit :)

I think I figured it out.. thanks to Youtube... I put the juice dorectly into the battery chamber and now NO burning taste and TONS of vapor. If anyone who has used the Riva has any tips for me of how much juice to use, the best way to add the juice (drip?), let me know. I like this simple unit and would like to keep it in god shape. Happy vaping!

Rivas are great! Just remember to clean your battery connection often, including the charger connection. I would also invest in a box of cartomizers and a drip tip for sass. Rule of thumb, when the taste seem to change drip, this is between 6-9 drags for me. Good luck

Your link isn't working :( I'm not sure what you mean. Check out the link I posted.

OK, I have a box of 10 drip tips. I just filled one and added it on....because what you said was happening.. the taste WAS changing a bit. Now, it's great again:) AND it seems to work well with VG unlike my Bloog!

Dragonlover~ Do you have a link to show me exactly what I should get? I'm a newbie.. so I get lost in some of the terminology and I don't want to make a mistake:) Thanks dragonlover!
PS~ I love dragons too! I'm a dinosaur bone collector and I use "gembone" (Agatized dinosaur bone found in Utah)in my jewelry... as close as you can get to dragon bone jewelry:)

And no, I'm not promoting my merch for sale...just sharing my passion. This is a blue/red agatized gembone cab we cut for either a large ring or pendant. Blue/red combos are very rare. See the pattern? Those are the dinosaurs actual cells petrified.... the stuff of magic.

OK, how do I keep the drip-tip filling (foam?) from coming out and making contact with the coil? I just got a burning taste, opened up the unit and the foam was dropping out and had made brief contact with the coil. I do NOT want this to happen... unless I'm mistaken that could burn out and ruin my carto? As soon as I stuffed it back in and took a hit it was fine again.

The thing with the foam in it is actually a cartridge. Mine said atomized cartridges too so it's a bit confusing. If you want to drip (which I prefer) you can yank all the foam out of an empty one, put a few (3-4) drops of liquid on the heating coil and pop the empty cartridge back on and vape. After 5-10 puffs, depending on how big they are it will start to taste dry or funny, you need to add more drops.
I find the cartridges are good for a few puffs but don't give consistent hits in the long run. Most people drip or buy cartomizers.

Ok, I get it your terminology is a bit cloudy still. :) Your learning a whole new vocabulary as you learn. A bit frustrating at times but you'll get it.

You have your Battery, Atty what you drip on to and your cart a not drip tip or cartomizer. Just a Atty cart. :)

It's ok if the foam in your cart touches your Atty bridge. You just want to make sure you are keeping the foam plenty wet. Drip on to the Atty metal thing "bridge" then the filling and vape repeat every few hits.

This is why I prefer cartomizers the one piece unit you used on your bloog I'm thinking. It holds around 22 drops of juice so it's much easier. A Drip tip is nothing more than a pretty mouth piece that you can pop off easily to fill your cartomizers or Atty. You don't actually drip in to the drip tip hole :)

PS My video link shows the same kit, just named and packaged differently. But the directions are still the same :)

Gotcha.. thanks very much. I know... I'm super-green:) yeah, I have to refill juice almost constantly it seems. Would a bloog carto work on this unit? What should I buy????
Off to watch your video finally.... (kids want to watch whenever I play a video so I avoid them when they're around).

When you say "bridge" you're not referring to the coil, right? The area around the coil?

Yep... I'll buy the cartomizers for sure.. I need a low maintenance unit and don't have the time to drip that often. I need to watch Beans video.. perhaps that will give me an idea of the best cartos to buy for this unit. Thanks for the help!!
