I was asked by a friend to post this here. If you have a fireant problem, my feed store owner (who's a buddy) carries and uses Ascend. It is a non-poison bait that the fireants LOVE, so they rush it to the queen(s) and it sterilizes any and all queens in the mount. When the queen(s) dies, the mound dies. He used it himself, but instead of following package directions, he laid it out in 4' by 4' grids and eliminated literally ACRES of mounds! We don't currently have fireants (Texas has a release program of the South American flies that are their natural predator and they've cleared them out in our area), but if they come back, I'll use it myself and I'm taking some to my kids because they have a problem with them. I forgot to ask how much, but he said it's pretty pricey, but a little goes a long way, so you save in the long run!

Good luck and happy fireant hunting! :)
