I got to work a little early this morning. The kids start school today. I feel bad for my oldest having to get up at six when I do. Not only are they beginning the school year early but they have to be there about fifteen minutes earlier than last year.

Yeah, the oldest is a junior in high school this year. I thought it was a little odd last night that she said she was nervous about starting today. I think because she is taking advanced placement classes that she thinks they are going to be really hard. I know she can handle it but don't know if she does.

You know, when I started in Med sales in the mid 80's it was a great field and career. Looking back I would not have changed a thing, however its getting tougher these days as Drug/Med Manufacturing companies are cutting costs and expenses. Our company has had layoffs the last few years and I expect to see more next year. 10 years ago I used to get 1-2 job offers from competitors every year but I bet its been 6 years since anyone from another company has called about a job. This Healthcare Reform Act is going to kill more Medical device Sales/Manufacturing jobs.

That's too bad. I hope you weather the storm ok. It seems like electricians are always needed. If I needed to I could go get my license and work residential too. It's kind of an odd position that I ended up with but I like it and it pays pretty good. Last month made 16 years with my company.

Afternoon all! Can't beat retail fellas. Has to be the safest field out there. People always need to buy stuff. I started out selling womens shoes back in the eighties and everyone laughed. Since then I have watched most of the laughers bounce from one job to another. Of course I am in management now which seems less safe than an associate position. Figure as long as I keep sweating blood and have strong sales numbers I am good until 75.

My company does retail kinda. They sell welding supplies to business and individuals too. It's just not what I do in my department.

I just got back from round two of school supply shopping. School supplies sure have gone up in price. Either that or my kids pick the expensive stuff.
