A silver lining perhaps?

It has occurred to me while reading through the posts tonight that the exploding battery story may have a silver lining.

For the past 2+ years I've vaped away without giving my batteries a second thought. Granted, I haven't used mods, but it still didn't occur to me.

Although I was slightly annoyed at the initial panic that happened on the forums following the story, I'm realizing that it has done all of us a favor.

We are now being more cautious and taking more care with our e-cig use and I hope that this will further reduce these incidents and allow us to all continue to vape in relative safety.

I'm sorry for the man who was hurt, but I'm also thankful of the things it has brought to light.

Just my :2c:

Well to many times people get into things without knowledge or knowhow. This is evident in everything, that is why we are required to take a drivers test before we drive (legally). I have been wanting to build an evercool mod forever and haven't yet. I just now have aquired all my pieces to do a quility setup and can't wait to finish it. That being said people need to take time to learn before they do and in the case of the Florida guy getting hurt..... until we know more I think Forrest Gump applies here.

I am into modification of other things such as xbox, android, cars, etc, etc and I see so many times people ruining stuff because they jump in both feet blindfolded and expect the best outcome and then fail and want people to spoon feed them help.

A little reading goes a long ways. You are right though hopefully this was enough of a shock to get the current userbase weary of potential dangers. 2 weeks from now we will be back at square one but hopefully enough people know can lead in the right direction based on what we learned this far....
