Nah, it's much more simple than that. It's a part of the right wing conspiracy. Or was it is the socialists?

FWIW, none of my 200+ videos on YouTube have ever experienced your problem. There is a lag. And, pumping up your own counter only seems to give a temporary bump, I'll assume their software has no problem detecting your IP.

So far as the audio muting is concerned ... you can thank WMG for most of that. I've never heard of any audio track being killed unless it had musical content. I never agree with you on anything, of course ... but, YT does irritate me with their bowing down to WMG. I mean, if anything, exposure of their catalog should boost sales (more likely have no effect on them). NOBODY is going to save an audio track from YT when it's so easy to get a much better sounding bootleg. Or, better yet, buy the music. I've been hit by the WMG crap myself.

YouTube - Kerry's Kitchen: Using the George Foreman Grill (2007)

Tell me if you hear anything. This guy owned the © to his videos and music. Yet ScrewTube stripped the audio out. Kerry wanted to upload it again and fix it, but he went all dead on us before he could. I had a bunch of audio stripped as well at the time.

Kerry also had the stuck counter problem, and it is well known about. And he mentions it here, along with the stripped audio (1 minute in he starts mentioning it)

And no, I don't "pump my own counter" up. Neither did Kerry, Ray Glasser, or ANY of the other video producers I hear from that encountered this problem. If your counters do not "stick", count yourself lucky.

Wow, I've gotta admit, that sucks! Odd that there is no notification attached to the video indicating the reason for the muting.

One of my videos had the audio muted. And, they tagged it, "This video contains an audio track that has not been authorized by WMG. The audio has been disabled. " ... it did have musical content. Several others have notes on my control panel which indicate they are blocked in certain countries (not including the USA).

That is what puzzled Kerry, Ray, and I. All three of us were getting hit with stripped audio and no tag as to why. None of my videos that had its audio stripped had any music, Kerrys music was a self composed theme music track he made for his Kerrys Kitchen shows, and Ray had a couple of his videos audio stripped for no rhyme or reason.

I'd show you my videos that had the audio stripped, but YouTube canned my channel and account last October for no reason and I had to rebuild from the basement. Yup, no reason. Not even a single © issue.

The frozen counter problem I explained in my video. A lot of us had this problem last year, and it is carrying over to this year. YouTube knows of the "problem", but doesn't think there is a problem. Search YouTube for "300 view count freeze" or something like that. It is a wide spread problem YouTube doesn't want to fix for some strange reason.

That is really odd. I wonder if they think that you spoofed one of your videos for hits. Then they just block you from then on.

Wonder why it happens to some, but not everyone that is using youtube.

That's the thing, and that's where a lot of us think YouTube f'ed up. Their original plan, what I believe, was they were to freeze counters until the actual verifiable views caught up. For example, if some spamming cheat pounded his videos for 20,000 views, the counter froze at 300 to verify all the views (IP addresses, etc) to verify they were all unique. If not (and proxy views are tossed out as well. YouTube count spammers used Proxies a lot) the counter remained "stuck" at 300 views until the ACTUAL views of real verifiable views matched. Once that happened, counters started to work. If your video received only 5-10 real views per day, your counter remains frozen until it reached the number of spamming views. Could take months for this to occure. Which, in my opinion, is fine, IF the system actually WORKED. But remember, we're dealing with Google. :(

But the bug, and YouTube denies this, is that the counter freezes on ALL videos, and some remain stuck in the 300 mode forever. Most continue after 24/48 hours, but lots remain stuck for months. Basically screwing legitimate video producers out of view counts.

Nice....
