A tip for Japanese cotton users!

I kept cutting different widths of Japanese cotton to try to get the right wick density, when I had an idea. What I do now is I cut a "wedge" or a "taper" shaped segment of cotton, so that I can simply move the segment back and forth to get the right width. I don't know if this is new, but I thought I'd share.
