Honestly I think it's over kill. PG/VG you really don't need to worry about excess air and NIC if you break it down into smaller bottles that hold a 90 day supply you can keep a working bottle out and freeze the rest. That would be the best practice for long term storage.

I have had a 250 ml bottle of nic that I work out of for 5 months at a time without any noticeable degrading of nic content. Of course I just keep it out of direct sunlight in an amber bottle. I have not had the courage to see how long the 500 ml would do but I did pour 250 into the normal one I work out of and then just threw the other remaining 250 ml into the freezer for when I am about ready for more. I also think that would be overkill as well. Hope this helps.

I agree with Danny, vacuum sealed, if the liquid is in a well-sealed glass bottle already, is mostly moot. Compared to glass, the vacuum seal is quite porous.

The ethanol trick is ok, and should work, but again, I think it is moot. A bit of headspace does not have a lot of O2, and there is already some O2 dissolved in the VG or PG. And the freezer pretty much halts reaction with that O2.

And yes, even at room temperature with a bottle occasionally opened for DIY, oxidation is pretty slow. I have some 100 mg VG that has been out for a couple of months, and it has hardly changed.

Glass and freezer is the ticket. The vacuum sealing, on the other hand, will protect against breakage, so does have some value. Just not in terms of oxidation rates.
