I smoked for 20 years before I quit last week.
Got my 510 starter kit from cignot.com last Thursday afternoon. Didn't get quite the buzz as I did from cigarettes, so as well as vaping, I smoked a few analogs that night. The next night I was out drinking and my battery ran down, so I smoked a few more. Haven't smoked since. I've been tempted, especially after eating, but it's such a small temptation with vaping as an alternative.
By Sunday and Monday, my lungs were feeling pretty good, but I got a bad cough Tuesday and thought it might be the vaping until I checked my temperature Wednesday and turns out I had a fever, so it was a cold or something. I doubt the vaping had anything to do with it and might have contributed to a faster recovery.
Since at first I thought it might be a reaction to the PG, I ordered some VG juice from Vermont Vapor in tobacco and maple flavors (36mg). I haven't tried the Tobacco flavor yet, but the maple is awesome. A little slower to vaporize than the PG, but once I got used to it, I got a thick, rich, almost decadent maple-flavored vapor. I can see myself vaping this stuff even if I kicked the nicotine habit for good. An excellent flavor for fall. Did any of the vapor folks have the foresight to formulate a pumpkin pie flavor for Halloween/Thanksgiving?
My new gadget was well-received at my local watering hole. The bartender asked if it was really like smoking, and after I took a drag on something that glowed with blue "cherry", then exhaled "smoke", his mind was blown. Everyone was interested in how it worked and I did the best I could to explain how everything worked and how I'd gotten the whole kit for about the cost of a carton of analogs.
Overall, I'm very pleased. I feel better about not having inhale all sorts of ghastly chemicals in order to get my nicotine fix, about spending less money, finding a supportive online community (that's you), and being able to tell people "Look at me! I'm doing drugs IN THE FUTURE!"
I wish the equipment lasted longer. I was disappointed to find out the goldfish-like life span of atomizers and batteries, but I'm still sure I'm going to save money unless I go crazy buying mods besides the blue aquarium foam and PTBs I got even before my starter kit got here.
Question - What's the dealio with atomizer maintenance? I used 91% isopropyl alcohol since that's what I use to clean electronics and had around the house, but I've also got white vinegar and I'm certainly not opposed to keep some PGA or vodka around the house.
Now that I've got the basic kit, I'm looking for a second package deal that takes my collection of nicotine delivery devices and accessories and includes a car charger and USB passthrough. Has anyone seen anything like that or will a supplier give me a deal if order a whole bunch of equipment and spare parts at once?
