A7 Mini on Silver REO 2.0 (18490). A7 Mini, without the shorty DT that came with it, is the same height as a standard Smoketech or Boge carto so really doesn't seem to be too awfully top heavy on Mini REOs. It came coiled with two extras. One on it measured 2.33 ohm (I'm building a more suitable coil, 1.3 ohm, for unregulated 3.7 volt battery) after dryburning to temper the coil. I boiled it first to remove any manufacturing oils and/or residue. The center positive post on bottom is not as wobbly as they are on the standard A7 so I see no need to put the little condom slices in to stabilize it.

{edit} The wicked/coils that came on and with it, the wick is really stiff.

As a warning to others -- Westamyx, you were lucky. My mini had a very wobbly positive connection. So it seems to be random. Save yourself a Reo spring, and reinforce the positive post :)

Thanks. Will do. It's not that big a deal to slip a couple of condom pieces in. I've done it to all my A7 standards.

first time i've heard of this....

Have to run. Hoping someone will point you to direction of discussion about. The center connection post, positive pin, is really woobly and has caused some shorting. In addition, every time you take A7 off and put back on you have to most usually adjust the center pin.

I did the Karen fix on my A7 full, used 3 bits so there's no way for it to make contact but still allow airflow, works great. When I get my A7 mini, if it has the same problem I'm gonna try wrapping the outside of the post's head with teflon tape. I'm thinking it'll cling tight enough to stay put, leave a full airspace, and prevent contact in any side direction.

As long as it's not between the post's threads and its connection, and the face of the post is exposed to make contact with the mod, it should work, yes?

How much taller is this than a standard 510 atty with a shorty drip tip? Can someone post up a reference pic? It's gonna go on my mini (14500).

Thanks!

Here ya go.... Mini 2.0 with A7 Mini and Mini with standard 510 atty, matching short DTs on each, and Black Wrinkle VVG with standard sized carto (Smoketech or Boge).

Alright guys, I went over to Keith's and picked up an A7 Mini.

Quick review:

Looks/Build:
4/5

It's built well, has a good weight to it, and putting in a coil isn't too tough. It is a bit tall though, but it fits on my mini fine.

Vapor Production:
5/5
With a good coil, vapor is abundant and plenty.

Throat hit:
3/5
It really isn't there, even though my coil is 1ohm. It's kinda airy, it just doesn't "shoot out at you" like a regular atty.

Flavor:
2/5
Where is it? I'm getting plumes of vapor, but the flavor is just damn muted. It's not there. I'm using a cotton wick and 32awg kanthal wire...

Wicking:
3/5
Well, it wicks, but I get dry hits often. My coil isn't tight either, wicks are fluffed and soaked, no hot spots. This is better suited for dripping IMO.

Issues:
Aside from above, my center post is actually not that wobbly. No shorts yet on any of my PV's, stays put in the reo with no issues either. I'm hoping it stays that way.

Eh...what am I doing wrong? I really WANT to like this atty more than a Cisco 510 AERO or a 357, but it just isn't satisfying... Now that I think of it, not a single RBA ever really satisfied me. Idk...

I could use some tips from other reonauts lol.
