? About the ego booster that turns ego into variable voltage.

I am new this is only my second post. Does anyone have info on the ego booster that you screw I to you're ego battery. It is supposed to turn the regular joyetech eGo battery into a variable voltage battery. Does anyone know if you use this device will it hurt the ego or void your warranty?
