Hi,

I'm looking to give up cigarettes and am really looking forward to trying the Vapor King but before I order I would like some help if possible so I can know how much to order. Sorry for all the questions but I'd really like to get this order placed and not regret what I ordered..Thanks.

What I smoke now: About 10-15 analog cigarettes a day. Canadian Classics, regular size, regular strength.

What strengh (nicotine) cartomizer should I use?

How many pulls/draws from the e-cig would be equivelent to a full analog cigarette.

How many pulls/draws could I get from 1 cartomizer.

If I were to buy a bottle of 20ml nobacco liquid...how many Cartomizers could that fill.

I haven't been vaping long enough to really recommend what to try but I'm sure some of the more experienced members will chime in.

I find I do not vape at all like smoking an analog, I take two or three pulls every fifteen minutes or so instead of vaping for five minutes straight then putting it down for an hour. So for me a brand new full carto lasts me about as long as 3/4 a pack of analogs. I used to be a pack a day smoker.

I'm big on refilling to keep the price affordable for me and I just checked. I've gone through 20mgs of refill juice in about two and a half weeks and used maybe two new prefilled cartos.

Welcome to the V4L family!

Thanks for replying, sounds like this will cut costs a ton..I spend a little over $200 a month on cigarettes and will also be so much more healthier...I'm really exited about this, not only that..I live in a house with all smokers but we don't smoke inside the house and now I can use this inside and hopefully convert other people of the house to using this if I like it. Keep advice coming guys, really appreciate it. Some flavour reccomendations would be great too...seeing as I'm trying to quit analogs it would be good to start with a flavour that comes close to the same taste.

I am pretty new to vaping also BUT just wanted to confirm the above posters info is about the same as mine. LOTS cheaper then ciggys if you refill your cartos! Maybe a slightly larger first investment but after that its healthly vaping and money saving for you!

As far as flavors..... I was just like you I wanted something to "match" my cig taste so I could quit smoking the nasties and still feel like I just had a cig. However it only took me 1-2 days of smoking the "tobacco" flavors before I started breaking out the other flavors.... watermelon, dr. pepper, mint, chocolate, capp., and many other. Since having tried the other flavors I find myself vaping those because they taste so darn good and not smoking tobacco flavors but every once in awhile.

I would suggest taking a small portion of your initial investment and TRY a few different flavors and see what you like. If you happen to do not like something you pick I am sure SOMEONE on forum will like them and possibly trade you something you do like for them. Virgina,Cmel, Kent, 555 seem to be some of the "tobaccoey" favorites.

Congrats on the choice to quit! I would reccomend the ultimatum kit, and as for flavors, I personally smoked marlboro lights and camel lights. The carts I have really enjoyed are the parliment and the kant. I started at 18mg since that's a little higher dosae of nic than a real cig and I didn't want to have to fight the urge for a real one. After a month, I switched to 11mg and find that even 8mg works for me. If you don't get the ultimatum kit, at least get the passthru, it was a lifesaver for me in the mornings when my urge was the strongest. Also the long battery gives a good consistent vapor and lasts quite a long time. Hope this helps! FWIW, I haven't liked any of the fruity flavors but the tobacco flavors (especially parliment) more than satisfy me.

Congrats on trying to quit. V4L has, IMO, the best products available. I tried two other brands before finally buying the Vaper King...been 1 week today w/o cigs (after 15yrs straight of having 10+ per day).

I think each cartridge is about 3/4 pack (as stated above).

I think I read somewhere that each cartridge holds a little less than 1mL, so a 20mL bottle will let you refill well over 20 times as the cart will never be totally dry.

About 14 pulls/draws equal a reg cig (analog).

Personally, I started out with 18mg strength, then went to the 24mg. The 24mg (555 and Kent/Kant) is what really took the cravings away for me. The 24mg almost felt like I chain smoked 2 cigs, so I def didn't want to have a real smoke after that. I will prob switch back to 18/11mg after my 2nd or 3rd week.

Good luck to ya!!

Also I think for now I will try a bunch of pee-filled and the start filling when I find some I like.

I hope that was a typo... ;)

That is probably the best way to start... just screw on a carto and vape! But when they are done (you can tell if you start getting a burnt marshmellow taste that the carto is done) replug them and toss them into a box or coffee can, that way you can use them to refill later. I usually refill mine a few times then toss them into a coffee can in case the government goes mad and bans ecigs - then I will have a bunch I can refill. I am a bit paranoid about my new found love of vaping, can you tell? lol

18 is probably a good place to start nic wise. Then either move up or down as you need. 24s can be a bit harsh for some. 18 should give you the nic you need and a nice little throat hit without killing your throat. I usually vape that, but every once in a while I toss on a 24 when I really want a kick in the pants.

For me, it was the coffee/cappuccino/chocolate flavors that got me off the cigs. I didn't care for the tobacco flavors. I also find the banana to be outstanding! Taste is very subjective though, and you will just have to find your sweet spot! Hang in there and welcome! ;)

 Yea, hope this was just a typo!

Ditto to what the others have said.

My niece just started vaping a few days ago -- her smoking was similar to yours, about 1/2 pack a day. My 24's were way too much of a kick for her, so she ordered 11 and 18mg, and those seem to be working great for her.

But it's really personal preference -- some (like me) really like that strong throat hit. I'm trying to cut down my nic levels now, but I'm still using the 24mg when I really have a craving.

The important thing is to just get started. So congrats on your decision, and welcome to our little fan club.

Congrats Newff on your decision to become a V4L'er!!! My boyfriend preferes the tobacco flavors, he smoked Marlboro Lights (about a pack a day, sometimes more) & right now, his favorite flavor is the Hilton. He's on 18's, however, I may have to order some 24's for him since he still hasn't kicked the analogs (neither have I). We have cut down a lot since the VK (he's cut down a little more than half, me about 3/4).

As everyone else has stated, taste is purely on an individual basis. So is the nic strength. The main thing is, you've made a decision and that's more than half the battle. I encourage you to return to this forum often for the moral support - you will find that everyone here is absolutely wonderful and that Steve with his V4L team is the loving glue that keeps us all together. Welcome!

LOL, yes "pee-filled cartomizers" was a typo..damn iPhone auto correct i guess. Can't wait to get this going..really starting to notice the effects from smoking analogs and I'm only 22 so I can only imagine how I would be if I keep it up, been wanting to quit but it's hard because I acually enjoy smoking. I play online poker for a side income and I enjoy going for a smoke ouside for a break..hopefully now I can just enjoy vaping at my computer and not have to go ouside (-30 to -50 degrees sometimes here) very very cold.

So am I right that no auto battery comes in any starter kit? Not sure if I am missing something. You guys been great, thanks for helping me out, I'll be sure to give back and help other newbies when I become good at all this :)

You will love it. I haven't ventured from the tobacco/menthol flavors, maybe someday. My fingers don't work so well due to neuropathy from the chemo, so my filling sux to say the least. I was able to quit analogs the day I started vaping, hope it's the same for you. I smoked for 40 years and didn't think I had a prayer. My new addiction is vaping, can't see myself quitting this anytime soon.

Me too, Sheryl -- I think I am now more addicted to vaping than I was to smoking ... well, almost. But I took to it right away even though I smoked for over 38 years.

Refilling is great for those who want to do it, but it is just an option, not mandatory, thank goodness. My empties just get tossed into a coffee can. Buying the cartos is still cheaper than smoking was, so I don't feel any guilt whatsoever about not refilling them yet, and neither should you. I understand the neuropathy -- mine is a result of lupus. I also have kidney problems. And with the other things on my plate right now, who has time or energy to refill? It's what I love about using cartomizers -- just pop on a new one and you're good to go.

Newff, congrats on placing your 1st order. As Sheryl said, you will love it. The hardest part will be waiting to receive it. :)
