AC to DC adapter - Passthrough?

Has anyone tried to use an AC to DC adapter with multiple voltage selections for a passthrough power supply? Here's one at Amazon with 1.5A

I doubt you wold be happy with that as it only has 4.5V as a usable setting for a PT. You may want to look around for one that has a better voltage selection between 3.2V and 5V as somewhere between these voltages is where your sweet spot will be. Otherwise set at 4.5V it will probably work fine but a non selectable one would be cheaper as the single voltage is all that is usable.

What I did was take a 12V 1.5A power supply from an old router and wired it to an automotive cigarette jack from Walmart and then plug my 2A usb car adapter into that for in the house use.
