;)Im about to do the same thing....I think Im going with the AC9 just because of all the good feedback. I dont as of yet use those tank destroying juices. I have this AGA T2 working so good really, dont need another but you know how we are, us Vapor junkies...right anyone? Guess I want one that was a bit easier to setup. I went through hell with this AGA. I also have a DID mini clone coming as well. I bought that on a night of endless hot spots on my AGA.

I don't know if weight is an important factor for you, but for me weight is a very important factor. I wouldn't get anything that is too top heavy like the Z_atty or the AC9. I also wouldn't pay an arm and a leg for any devices that I know in a few months there will be a clone of.

My 2 cents...go with the Titanium Bliss or the Cobra. Once you have a titanium device you will never settle for stainless steel. Also, I don't think the Chinese will ever bring out a titanium atty clone that is actually titanium.

Keep in mind, the unit will function only as well as the coil you make for it...

that being said, they are both based off the same design.
2 key things to note are air flow and capacity.

Air flow - dia. of air hole & location . go with what you would like. airy or tight.
Capacity - the whole reason why you have a tank, go with what holds more juice.

The ZAP is designed for the Pro, if the AC9 is large and clunky on your mod, than it wont feel comfortable and you wont enjoy vaping it....

They will both vape the same, if you build them the same ;)

Then your coiling skills need improvement. :)

But that is just my opinion

Even something as simple as the layout of the atty deck or size of the atomizer chamber can make a noticeable difference in how the atty performs.

A small chamber and air intake will put out less vapour but better throat hit and flavour, for example.

While you may have a point.

i have setup 4 different Gen Tanks [Mini-DID/AGA-T/iHybrid/ZAU], and have been able to set them up with identical performance.
And i have been getting my A7 and ERA to similar results with SS wicks. Love my bottom feeder
:D

I'm not trying to disprove your opinion.
This is just what i have experience, so I think it is possible.
A rebuildable is only as good as the coil/wick you put in it. ;)

I have both. They are both awesome. it is hard to compare both as there are distinct differences in performance between them. Some call the ZAP "airy" draw..... I don't consider it a truely airy draw but the way the chamber is designed and the way you have to draw on it makes it seem kinda airy but the flavor and vapor concentration on the ZAP is unique and strong. The AC9 on the other hand I would consider to be an airy draw but it is a cloud makin lung killer :) tons of vapor!!

I actually like em both almost equally......but for different reasons...

DSmooch, small wick hole.......take out the insulator and the wick hole on the Zen is huge :)

With the Zen, even with the insulator in place, and the small wick hole, it performs well, even with the skinny factory wicks. But, If you choose to remove the insulator, the wick hole is quite large.

That was the scariest... I glad the damn insulator gets out :2cool:
can't wait to get it... man hard to beleive theyre still in stock at 310vapers... that's 2 days straight.
I mean I have to be one of the last to get on that ZAU train!

I'll chime in on this one (nice to see some familiar faces, I've been busy recently).

I would go with the Z-atty. As much as I'm not much of a fan of the Zen hybrids, I do think his atomizers are excellent. They have a few advantages over the AC9:

-The set-up is easier to "perfect".. I do not follow the AC9 too closely, but last time I checked, the AC9 uses a spring and washer-based positive post. This is not optimal for current flow. The Zen uses a standard top screw connection.

-The tank is glass on the Z-atty. Although some people will prefer the plastic, I love licorice, cinnamon, and citrus flavors- so the AC9 tank will never work for me. It also has had leaking issues.

-ease of acquisition. The Z-atty is much more common in the marketplace now, as Zen has had time to ramp up production. The AC9 is currently on the second batch of orders- ever.

-The recent lawsuit drama. I can understand that the maker of the AC9 is concerned about ChAC9's popping up all over the place- but, the answer to that problem is NOT to go after the people who are running the co-ops for the devices with threats and lawsuits. These folks put a lot of time and energy into the community for very little or nothing in return! This makes me very heated. I will never buy an AC9 or Vapinaze product at this point unless I hear that this BS has stopped. Both the GG and Zen products have been copied, and co-oped by ECF'ers...but Imeo and Zen have not tried, and will never try, to sue the ECF members doing so, lol!

(oh, and yeah, there might be slight air-flow differences that may affect the performance of Genesis devices, but you can learn to adjust your coil-building methods, materials used, top cap placement/air hole size and placement, and the devices you use the atty on to counter these differences...I promise you, the difference in performance to an experienced user will be negligible after some adjustments are made to ANY system compared to ANY other system, besides perhaps something like the iHybrid or Poldiac if compared to other unregulated mods).

the newer models do have a spring added, when i recieved my ac-9 that was the first thing i took off, to me it did not make a consistant connection. it comes off in a second and you are left with a regular pp connection, after a month or so of use i have yet to have any issues with the connection. as for leaks, zero, maybe this was something they might of had in the first batch, but for me its been completly dry.

i havent been keeping up with this he's still at it? lol spend more time building atty's instead of chasing people and it wouldnt be a problem. the fact that makers like zen, somnium, siam mods selling out show that no matter how many copies pop up people will buy the real thing regardless. due to all the this crap and waiting so long i lost all interest in the ac9.

Not sure on your point about the spring. The spring washer setup on the AC9 is to simply press the coil wire against the positive post, a long screw, the screw is the contact. Doesn't the zau/zatty use a floating 510 connection - spring? I think most mechanical mods use springs too for the switches. So I am not following the logic here.

ChAC9? wow.... I missed the action.
"These folks put a lot of time and energy" in cloning stuff and having a commercial forum inside ECF shouldn't be a good thing.
I mean I can understand we have no control over the chinese, but here... Its just an initiative killer. its unfair and its a theft. You almost make it sound like a robin hood coop.

up to a point, the good stuff sells and sells fast - so most of the top shelf vendors ignore it. zaps sell out in hours, foggatti sells out in like 14 minutes, AC9's are gone from the classifieds in seconds. people will always take the innovators products.
they can make as many clones of the cobra as they want. but i still own 2 of the real ones with custom tanks. look how many DID you own, when there is 50 clones.
there must be 100k agas sold a day yet the real stuff is still sold out.

Did you bore out the air holes of all your devices? I just got the Cobra and it is a completely different animal from the rest of my atties. It has a 1mm air hole....but produces clouds of vapor (I still don't get how they did that). The vape tastes like its coming from a carto....very warm and intense. I have tried other 1mm air hole devices but they just don't perform like the cobra.

I definitely agree that an RBA "is only as good as the coil/wick inside it", but I can't imagine how you could set up an iHybrid or a ZAP to perform just like the Cobra....or vice versa.

the cobra has a 1mm airhole? wow thats small, i would have a hard time using my 28g wire on that. anyways, i see both sides of the vaping comparisons of different gennys based upon set-ups. i do usally set up all of my gennys the same, all 28g, all same resistances, all same volts, etc. but if i were to close my eyes i can tell exactly what genny i am vaping, although all are performing the same. they all do have different characteristics, but the vape is similiar.

The springs used in mech mods don't usually carry current or have any affect on the button's connection itself- that would depend on how hard you pressed the button, not it's method of mechanical resistance.

The floating center pin is less of a concern- in fact, it's a totally different concern- than a sprung positive contact. In the case of floating center pins, you're talking about two non-resistive metals being forced together, which will never move around during use, get soaking wet with eliquid, or run the risk of heating up; The bigger concern with them is the spring used, and whether it is non-resistive or not, because it carries current.

The positive lead is your most important point of connection in a genesis device, because it's the source of 90% of the problems people have. If the connection isn't good and tight, you run into issues with hot spots and run the risk of adding resistance to your setup, which restricts the current flow and can alter the performance quite a bit.

Hopefully that explains my logic :)

My new disclaimer, though, is if it works for you, keep at it! There is no perfect setup, and with high-end atty's, we're really talking semantics, here.
