Ack! Cart liquids!

I got my Pilot Hybrid from PS yesterday, and I am really trying hard to stick with vaping. The problem is, in my opinion, the cartridges that come with e-cig suck! Flavor is almost non existant and there is a weird chemical or plasticy aftertaste sometimes. I ordered some carts prefilled with menthol, and I can't even smoke those they are so bad, and I am primarily a menthol smoker.

I even found some carts locally for a different model (atomizer and cart combined). I wrung all the juice out of those carts and they seemed to taste better at first, but now I can't even taste those anymore (cept for that wierd aftertaste)

I am almost temped to go back to analogs until my other juices come in. But i'm afraid it will be hard to go back again. I am not only addicted to the nicotine it seems. I still have cravings for that chest hit and mentholy flavor.

Please someone tell me that other juices are way better!

First of all, welcome Klack. Second of all, relax. Did you get any juice with your order. When you first start there is sometimes a bad taste when you fire up the atomizer. In a Pilot this doesn't last long fortunately. Yes the juice that comes with the carts is not the best. If you rung out all the juice you're probably running the atomizer dry which is not a good thing. You will burn it up pretty fast doing that. If you don't have any juice, stop using it until you do. Then put a couple drops on the atomizer and refill your carts. You should be ok then. Don't give up. You'll get it. Watch the how to videos here on the forum. It will help you.

Hey Klack - I was in the same boat when I started. If I had to rely on prefilled carts alone, I wouldn't have stuck with it. Idahojo is right. You have to keep the atomizer moist with fluid otherwise it will taste funny. And prefilled carts go dry pretty quick unless you have some liquid...a couple drops every 20-30 puffs or so. Try the different juices out there and you'll find some you like. This has become more like a hobby for me it seems. You might spend a lot of money starting out, but once you find what works for you, I think you'll enjoy it more, and eventually recoop the costs.

Thank goodness! It would most certainly be the only 1 available all the time! But then there might be some strange folks out there that tend to like those flavors. LOL

Thanks for the support! I think I wrote that post all strung up on nicotine. I don't get any juice with my order, just prefilled carts.

I will switch back to analog and await my JC sampler and TW menthol.

It's a shame to go back to analog. You should update your profile and add your location. Once you get to know people in your area, it would be possible to exchange, buy, or lend a bit of juice until your order comes. It's nice to have vaping neighbors who can help out in a pinch.

One day isn't always enough for the atomiser to break in. It took about 3 or 4 days before my Pilot atomiser started tasting really good - and it does taste really good even with the pre-filled carts.

Got my TW Menthol today and am very happy with it. No nasty aftertastes! Now my only problem is that I seem to want to become a chain vaper!

This is going to sound strange and im sure i may be unique in this lol but when i first got my PiLOT i hated the pre-filled carts and as soon as my juices came i never thought about using the pre-fills in fact i actually remember washing out full ones haha as i could not get blanks for it.

Then the other day i ran out of my juice filled carts and popped in a pre-filled and guess what... I actually enjoyed it lol. Maybe even so soon after quiting analogs my taste buds are working a bit better and my brain associates the vapor as the drug no matter what the flavour?

It's a bit like coffee, i love the stuff but the first time i ever tasted it i hated it, i think that as soon as the brain gets into the caffeine you start to enjoy it, maybe im wrong lol but look at analogs they don't taste nice do they but to a smoker there the nicest tasting things in the world lol.

also watch out for any potential cleaning cycle issues, which also taste horrible. another note, when I first tried switching from one flavor to another I didn't bother to cleane my atomizer first, and it made things taste pretty poor. after soaking the atomizer in some lemon juice or cola (i've tried both, seem equal) for 15-20 minutes and then running the atomizer under really hot water (in a shot glass or something) for another 5 minutes, and letting it dry, the new flavors were much easier to appreciate

I told my husband the other day it tasted like perfumed roach spray... disgusting, then promptly gave him my new atomizer and said, "here, puff on this till the roach spray goes away" LOL. Awww, wives ya gotta love us !!

Silkyvapor, It was just the other way round here! Hubby said ack and held out the 901. I gave myself a headache vaping away for him..the rat!
Of course he makes sure I always have fresh coffe when I wake up!
