Hey everyone, I was just wondering something...

When I first decided to look into the concept of e-cigarettes, I was quite intrigued. Last week I purchased my first one, and I thought this would be the one I would use all day, every day. It was my thinking that one would be plenty. And not that one isn't plenty, but after my Dragon M401 (which I love), I wanted to try something else, and so purchased the DSE 801 Pen Style. Then last night, I purchased the M201 Classic Pen Style. During all this ordering of styles/models, there has been the gleeful frenzied ordering of e-juice, DIY supplies, etc...

Jeez, it's like I'm addicted to it! :D All this in a matter of 1 week...

I'm just wondering how many others out there started out with the intention of getting one good starter kit and maybe a bottle or two of juice, then sort of went ordering crazy?

There's always something bigger and better out there to try and then I have to try juice from several different suppliers to find my favorite. After that, I decide to buy DIY supplies to doctor up all the juice that I didn't "love".
I had to stock up on atomizers, cartridges and batteries. I feel deprived if I can't place an order somewhere every week. Sometimes two or three orders a week. There is no end in sight, but I love it.
It's beginning to look like a drug lab in my kitchen, I can't seem to quit reading this forum. My addiction to ecigs rivals my addition to nicotine and caffeine.
But it does keep me busy and out of trouble.:)

Yep...same thing happened to me. Got the typical 'starter' set - had to look like a cigarette. I got it and thought I was all set. Didn't use it long at all, then was ready for a 510. I've acquired a decent collection, but was that enough? Nope.

Get ready because it gets worse...The next step is you'll be wanting one of those big bad boys everybody raves about... I'm hoping my Prodigy arrives tomorrow. Poor mailman is going to be a little freaked out when I rush him at the mailbox...

I can't wait!!! :w00t:

But, hey, it beats collecting salt and pepper shakers or spoons, right?

LMAO - same here! My 16 year old daughter affectionately refers to my little corner of the kitchen where I keep all my supplies my ".... lab", lol. I heard her on the phone tonight with her boyfriend telling him Mom has a .... lab and her step father is totally good with it. Anyway, yeah, I do love it, but I gotta stop...just for a little while. I want to know what it feels like to "break even" from not buying the smokes anymore :)

Yea it's a hobby. Thought it would be cheaper than cigarettes but atleast it's healthier. My best calculation is $5.00 a week to maintain full time vaping @ 15ml a week 1 atomizer per month and a little room for battery replacement. To equate it to analog smoking it's like $1 per pack for me. That doesn't include trying new things. Thats where the money goes. But as a hobby atleast it is much cheaper than my other hobbies.

I think I've ordered every color/variation of the 510 possible.

Is this necessary? No. Do I have O.C.D.? Yes.

It's not OCD, it's OVD= Obsessive Vaping Disorder ( definition by Vaplor http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/37008-ovd.html )

I have really gotten bad about it. In just the past few days I have bought a PVMA set for my 901 and 510, 4 magnums, 10 x 30ml bottles of juice and 20 more attys. I justify this by telling myself that if I go back to smoking it will give me a heart attack but I'm getting to where I don't believe myself anymore, lol I have got to convince my husband to start telling me no now and then.

I think the shopping and buying is as, if not more, addicting than the nicotine. I recently have gotten to try juice from Puresmoker and Nhaler and I think I made a huge mistake in trying it. I like it too much and I know I will be buying more than I need or should buy, but I will still buy it. I even had a fight with my mail lady over the way she does my package deliveries. FWIW I won the argument, lol

ECF in itslef is addicting. It's one of the first sites I check when I wake up and it's usually the last site I go to before I finally go to sleep. Most of the members here are really great people and I've learned a lot from them and I'm still learning. Thanks for that guys! You are all great!

Ok, so I had to go figure it out (found out I have stuff coming that I forgot all about, lol), and in the last week I've spent $251.99, which includes shipping, on PVs, juices, and related items.
When I was buying smokes, I'd also pick up a pack for the husband, so that came to right around $16.84 per day/$117.88 per week/$471.52 per month.
Well, jeez, Louise - looks to me like I can buy MORE stuff! :p

On a side note - damn it was maddening spending all that $$ on something I was going to set on fire and that I knew was killing me, but doing it anyway because of the addiction!

UPDATE: Yeah, I know. My banner looks a little wonky, because it doesn't reflect this. But I wasn't counting the husband's smokes in it...

Angelz, now you sound like me,lol I was the heavy smoker in the house going thru a carton by myself every 5 days. So that was $240 a month, just for me. The Hubby smokes about a half pack a day and my oldest son smoked about a pack a day. My son has all but quit. He still has one or two a day but my hubby just can't seem to get the hang of it and I don't think vaping is going to be for him. Maybe he will change his mind, I hope so.

I really try to keep my spending to less than what I would have spent on cigs but the last two months I have really blown that budget. I have enough stuff to weather out a pretty long ban if need be. If the ban doesn't happen, then I'll start to see the savings since I already have all the stuff I need.

Can 100% relate to everything you said. I just made my very first batch of juice today, and man is it good. It's just a simple concoction of caramel and toned down 48mg unflavored, but I'm all proud because it's my first try and I love it.

I love mixing. I have come up with some great flavors and some, well, not so great ones, lol I get my flavorings from LorAnn's and they are mostly awesome flavors. Some are stronger than others but you'll quickly learn what you like and get your favorites memorized. Have fun and experiment with it. You never know what you might come up with!

Yep yep. And the beauty of this is - we're actually enjoying it - it's way healthier - it's not offensive - and the stuff we stock up on will last a while. Try doing that with analogues. Buy a carton...5 days later, buy another carton, and so on.
