Even though I'm new to this hobby and I've been tobacco free for 4 days, I'm looking to add another mod to my rotation.

I was looking at provari but then I came across the Apollo VTube 5.0 w/ temp control which can fire down to 0.2 ohms.

I was going to add another Kanger subox Mini kit since I've been getting along with it great but the Apollo one looks very sturdy.

Problem is I can't find any info on this VTube 5.0.

Any thoughts?

Edit: wanted a white subox mini kit but all the vendors list most of these mods as sold out or back ordered and the local shop is charging over $100 for the mini. I see that as a ridiculous mark up.

You need to do ohms calculation to see what kind of amps you will be pulling out if the battery at .2 resistance and the voltage you are using.

I would recommend checking the blogs of @Mooch , and @Baditude. Those are the battery safety gurus.

Neither of us wants your new mod to go BOOM.

Um.... Is it good value for money?

I know this mod and in the UK, you can buy... well, you know what I'm going to say.

I wouldn't. Crazy prices from a company that make it up as they go along. If you want to talk 'mark ups' let's talk about Apollo in general.

Hold on? You've been registered since 2009? Now I'm confused.

Hi. I'm new here! I was googling the same thing and came across vape360.com and Apollo Vtube 5.0 was there and it looked pretty awesome! But, I can't find ANYTHING anywhere else on the web about it? So, for $129.00 I'm a bit surprised . I wondered if it's really worth it?
That's why I googled and found this here forum. And decided to join, just to ask you all! Any new information yet?
I just started my nicotine patches last week and I do have the kangertech Subox nano (pink)
But it leaks terribly.
I also had the nautilus mini before, but was taken from my car. My fault for leaving it unattended.
So, I'm looking for something that looks more like what the Apollo looks like anyway. Pen like. I like the bulkyness. I do not like my Subox. I like that it does produce a lot of cloud and I get a good throat hit. However, It's a pain to take a part. I didn't use it much, until now that I stopped smoking. So I'm not sure what to look for.
Thanks for listening and I'm glad I stumbled upon this page!

@Garcia22306

Read between the lines here.

Certain websites are designed with one purpose. They make money from recommending vaping hardware. You must not trust this type of website. Read for info, but take no further action.

Mods like the Vtube are not 'Pen' mods anyway, they are tube mods and they are very big.

PM me if you need any further info.

Hey thanks. I appreciate the feedback. I guess I like the tube mod style then. But I'm not interested in being duped either Can you send me to a trustworthy website?

It's fairly easy.

Do NOT shop at brand stores, shop at independent vape stores that sell all the products made by all the manufacturers.

If you cannot see the names Kanger/Eleaf/Joyetech/Aspire/Sigelei on anything and all the products are called made up names and cost double or even triple, then it's a bad place to be shopping.
Things move really fast in the vape world and it suits the brand stores and the fake review people to leave these products and the sham reviews intact on the internet.
I saw a mod on sale last week for $179 that is worth not even $10. If you googled for a review on that mod, you will find a 5 star review from 2014.
This is how it works.

You have just dodged a $79 bullet. i.m.o. That mod is not worth more than $50.

If you want to know the price of anything, you need a shop that will give you a fair price of almost everything currently on the market. You also need to compare the specification (specs) of mods really, really carefully.

In the UK, I check a site called Myepack.

For the US, I see the prices and specs of mods at places like Sweet Vapes, Myvaporstore and others. I don't shop there, but they will quickly show you the approximate price and spec' of mods and tanks.

If you like the tube mods, that's OK by the way. They are big compared to the little box mods out there (iStick Pico for example) but you have the choice, of course. :)

Perhaps more importantly though is your troubles were leaking and stuff? That's not the mod you need to replace, but find a more reliable tank.
The 'mod' part of the subox kit should be good... and if the shape is really not to your liking then maybe it's time for a Provari on special price. Better to buy a discount Provari than give Apollo your money. :thumb:

Thank you. I went to the shop I got it from and they gave me a free coil and free juice claiming it was sugary & not enough VG? To see if that does the trick. It is still leaking a lot unfortunately.
The shop doesn't carry any tube like mods. They told me those don't sell any more.
They had the aspire Plato, I almost bought, but I wasn't too sure for 80.00 without researching the price. I paid 80.00 for my kangertech Subox nano and it's awful
I will look into those websites. Thank you.

Northern NJ native , Coastal NC now.
If you want a superb quality mod built as precise as mods costing three times as much the Innokin SVD 2.0 is your mod .

It has what many consider the best most precise chipset available which was purposely made for the SVD 2.0 by Evolv in a DNA 20 watt chip with step down technology .

Comes with a high quality case , built in high quality magnetic battery checker and a replaceable tube for two different size batteries .

It retails for $100.00 and it's worth every single penny but can be had now for under $40.00 at a lot of places.

The thing has received stellar reviews across the board and it's quality must be seen to be believed , it's exceptional .

Forgive me, I don't even understand this.

But, please... why do you keep saying your Subox nano is bad.... it has TWO parts to it, the mod and the tank. If you don't like the tank.... buy another one.

Buying a complete kit is not going to resolve your issues cheaper than buying a new tank. Besides... some of the Aspire products are overpriced now.

You can get an SVD 2 from China (a real one) for very little money.
Rather a good $20-$30 mod from China than a dubious $129 one from an American 'brand' store.

One US store sells a $23.85 mod for $99.99. This is what these stores do.

Sorry for my grumpiness, it's been a 16 hour day. Just buy yourself a nice new tank and get on with vaping.

$15-20 well spent and your troubles will be behind you. :)
