As far as the high vg base with 3% nic. Lots of people vape 100% vg juices.

As far as the flavoring, it all depends on the manufacturer. There are some great DIY threads on ecf that would help you there. I never begin with the recommended percentage. I always start lower and work my way up to my own preference.

Storing nic base is fine. Kept in a cool dark place there is a very long shelf life. If it would make you feel better, you can freeze nic in amber bottles. Fill all the way up to the top to avoid air in the bottle. It does not freeze so there are no worries there.

It is very easy to just add flavorings to a unflavored nic juice. I prefer the Gourmet and Super Concentrated flavorings at Vaping Zone. The cost a bit more but overall because you use so much less in a mixture, I feel as though it is more economical.
