OK..I cannot in any way shape or form take credit for what kristin has done..But I can hope to tweak it a bit..First off ty to ALL who are working torwards cart mods.I cant tell you about all the things I have been buying to try to use..I have had the BEST results with using of course,Kristins face buff mod, except I used SCOTTYBALLS spring mod with it.This shouldnt suprise you as she and he is in actuality a mad-scientist for the cause.
I like the PTB method, except it always drowned my atty and leaked..I tried it many times, and still an issue.(FOR ME).YMMV..
I have what I think may be something which will work for some of us,although not for all of us,but if I didnt think it was worth a try,I wouldnt be posting...AND it also has the properties of being really inexpensive...
I did everything Kristin did in this thread.. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartridge-mods/52430-ptb-straw-mod-ptb-made-easy.html
EXCEPT,I cut a piece off of a 5 gallon 100% nylon paint strainer..which looks like this..

And is very inexpensive..it is 19in. tall and about 12in. wide..
I used a piece about 2.5x2in.and stuffed it in just as Kristin did in the above thread..I hit it quite a bit, then added about 6-8 drops or so,and it took it,and later, when I lifted the mesh out of the cart, after hitting it for awhile again,I could see it was wicking DOWN torwards the atty side and the top side, was relatively empty. And the great thing for me was it was NOT LEAKING..
THis is on a lR 510 atty, and at one point it was pretty full and I let it sit for about 30 min or so while I ate dinner...NO funky tastes,or anything OFF on flavor...
A bag of 2 only cost me like $3...
The holes are at least twice the size of the PTB's..but no leakage so far...If you do try it and it doesnt seem to want to take juice,I just used a paperclip and made a slight dent in the side and it went in really well, but it did seem to go in ok without it.It seems to release the air pretty well when putting drops back in...
