Hi,

I currently use nautilus mini but the coils are costing a fortune, I'm not into sub ohming and tried the subtank with 1.8 ohm coil build ( which someone helped me with) although kept getting dry hits and it was far more convenient to just use a stock coil ha ha, so I'm thinking of getting a easy rebuild able but there are too many options, wanna spend about £30 the lemo 2 was suggested at B&M shop but when I read the reviews you can't mess with coil/ wick until its empty, which as a newbie to coil building this may lose me a lot of juice at first, so priorities are: easy to build, 1.8 coil build, mtl with easily adjustable air flow, any suggestions would be very welcome please

Hi @Beverleyw I suggest the Kanger Subtank Mini for new builders. You can get the OCC factory coils in .5 or 1.5 plus it has a rebuild deck. You can also get spare build decks at Fasttech Found 8 Subtank Mini coils (Product Type: Coil Heads) at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping though they are out of stock on some at the moment. If you get a more restrictive drip tip (similar to the Nautilus one) and use the restrictive air flow you can mouth to lung hit with it. (I do). Another good item to have is the Kuro Coiler $6.16 Kuro Koiler Wire Coiling Tool (3-Piece Set) - CW-20 + CW-25 + CW-30 at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping as it is a very nice tool to make the coil building easy. I'd recommend saving your old Nautilus coils as they can be rebuilt also. (it's a slight pain)

The Lemo2 has a larger deck to build on then the STM as well as my favorite feature - the top fill and UNFILL.

Since I DIY juices I have syringes around for measuring. A 5ml one is just about perfect to insert in the open fill hole of a Lemo2 and suck all the juice out. Granted everything inside the tank will be 'wet' with juice but you don't have to vape the tank dry to service the wick/coil.

For MTL and ability to get at the deck while the tank is full, you might want to look at a Kayfun V4 clone. I bought mine on clearance for USD20, plus a subohm kit (high temp insulator and bigger airflow tube) for another 5. It is single coil, so easy to build, top fill, and has a "juice flow control," not that I saw much use for the last. It does not draw freely enough to please me, but I am a direct lung hitter. Any RTA, of course, can be built to any ohms for which you can squeeze the coil on the deck. You'd have no problem getting a 1.8 in it, particularly with 32ga wire. Wicking is usually the hardest part for most builders, but it wicks like a Kayfun (naturally) so you just bring the tails to the deck and trim flush, no need to pare the tail and get it in the channel. Compared to many, it wicks very easily. I trim the wicks to length, pull them up to install the barrel, then stuff them back down with a dental pick or small screwdriver, and that's about it. Just wet with juice and do a test for vapor, then reassemble the tank. Like most top fill tanks, it leaks a few drops out the air holes after filling, even when shutting off the juice like you're supposed to, before filling. You should do that too, it's a help, it just doesn't work completely. No real problem, though. I just remove it from the mod, cup the bottom in a paper towel, and blow thru the drip tip to clear the deck after filling. Wipe it clean, reinstall, and vape happy.

FWIW, I love my Lemo 2s, they're my go-to tank. I have 2 or 3 of them. It's true you can't open them until they're empty, but this isn't really a problem in my experience. The Lemo is even easier to build than the KF4, and it also wicks like a Kayfun and is easy to do. The air flow is much easier, but it can be easily closed down for a MTL hitter. Just so you can see, I attach a photo of my KF4. It's topping my MMV Nanos mechanical mod; plus another of it beside the Nanos and a Nemesis in 18350 trim.

Aaw thanks guys for your suggestions, glad I asked as it backs up my initial thoughts, lemo 2 vs kayfun, did look at the new Triton but after hearing about all the leaks and the rba section wasn't all that, then I think I'll get a lemo 2, it should make me learn to coil as I don't want to be messing about unfilling constantly lol, I know where to come back to if I need any more advice, once again thanks :)

    Hi,

I currently use nautilus mini but the coils are costing a fortune,

    What is a fortune, Beverley?

    I spend £2.50-£3.00 a week on coils. That's like 1 or 2 cigarettes a day. (at 40p each).

Anyway.... rebuildable is good. I would start with a ''proven" £15 Kayfun Nano clone from the land of rice and noodles.
If you don't mind a bit larger, the Subtank with the RBA section is better than any Lemo nonsense.

Heck, there are so many Lemos lying around the place, someone will probably post you one for a tenner.

I have the lemo 2, (my only tank, beginner here) At first I found it very frustrating to have to empty the tank to get access to the coil. Until I bought a $0.99 syringe at my B&M store. (You need one with a real metal needle blunt preferably for safety). Emptying and refill is a breeze very happy with it. Sure there always residual juice so I have to wash my hands and the tank afterward but it doesn't keep me from tweaking and changing the coil every so often.

After you get the hang of it I love the top fill feature.

The deck has been made for single coil in mind.
The airflow is very easily adjustable.

    you should be able to wrap a 2 ohm coil on your subtank rba head;
    unless it's the nano

Amen. I love them. Solid tanks, easy to build, big air, and the top fill port is the best in the business. It's the only top fill design I have seen that doesn't leak after filling because closing the port does not pressurize the tank the way screw-down top caps do.

Hi Beverleyw, I stopped using the nautilus mini for the same reason. The coils died too quickly, probably because I vape NET. Building my own coils now for this reason and it's far cheaper :)

Hi, yeah as Kevin said, as I'm vaping donut juice I'm going through a nautilus coil every five days, I know its not much but husband uses em too so as I'm the geek I need to start getting my head round building lol, have had 2 sub tank minis, love the size but just didn't " do it " for me, sold em on, so think bit more you tubing on lemo coil building and put an order in for one, I'll be back with more questions no doubt ! Night all x
