Hey hey! So once upon a time, this forum helped me pick out my Joye 510... That was back in late 2009.

TL : DR - I sucked at quitting smoking, so I've quit quitting.
I never really quit smoking (I did while I was vaping, but only for a few months because I quit vaping in early 2010 - moved into my own place, was smoking analogs inside)... BUT earlier this year I quit analogs for two months and picked it back up (bowling alley, league nights, hard to be around all the smokers and not have one) and now I'm less interested in quitting and more interested in, well, something to enjoy when I don't want a cigarette - which after not smoking for a few months, I gross myself out on the regular.

I LIKE my Joye (ex managed to break both my batteries, don't ask how) and I still have the PCC and wall charger (and a ton of probably-expired liquid) but I never really found a liquid that made me "wow" and I only used the one kit, so I really want to find something kind of fun and ... well... new!

I prefer menthol fluids and I liked the coconut I got from nuvape, and I smoke camel menthol analogs.... I've looked at the Ploom system but I HATE the idea of throwing those little doodads away all the time, plus it seems a touch expensive.

What do you really enjoy - or want to suggest - I try now?

Edit - Think about it like this - I want something to do INSIDE while I watch tv/play games/read that might curb my desire to eat baked goods. :D

My most recent set up that I absolutely love is my ego twist with a vivi nova 2.5. And if you like coconut I highly recommend heavens nectar from Delaware vapors. It's a coconut pear mix. It actually kind of comes across as a banana initially ( I have no idea why) with a great coconut back. The flavors by joe section on the site has many fantastic juices. At least I haven't had a bad one yet.

I am vaping some Pink Spot Vapors' Grasshopper right now. I am amazed at how good it is. It is a light menthol on inhale, and on exhale you taste chocolate. It reminds me of a Thin Mint girlscout cookie. Mmmm :)
Holy-moly. Their web site looks DELICIOUS. Did you get any of their other flavors?

I was also a menthol smoker for over 30 years. I've found that I don't want any menthol in my vape at all. I really love more tropical stuff and surprisingly to me, caramel. Don't even like caramel candies but caramel juice really does it for me.

I suggest getting a bunch of sample sizes from different vendors to try to find a few flavours that suit you. Keep in mind that as your taste buds heal up/recover, your tastes may change as well. The flavours I started with I really can't stand now. Some of the ones I didn't like at first have become pretty good. With that in mind, never throw any juices out because you don't like them until your at least several months along.

I'm a noobie but hope my advice might help. Both my husband and I smoked Newport for almost 20 years. He vapes menthol and I vape grape. Go figure!!! What I would suggest is if you have an actual brick and mortar store near you, go there. I can't speak for all stores, but where I go lets you try out different flavors before you buy. Taste is sooo subjective!!!

:( I live... in the dirty dirty DIRTY south. Barefoot, dirt roads, mules-hitched-to-wagons dirty south. I get mah intrawebs through a tin can.

(We have cars... barely ;) )

But there are a couple "smoke shops" in bigger cities ~1 hour away from me that might have some stuff I can touch and taste. I'm looking for a new kit, too, so maybe they'll have something SHINY (the eGo? by Joye looks cool... I want to know what the difference between a 510 and a 510T is... cause I HAD the old 510... and they look... different...)

LOL. Sorry I guess being in the Chicago area there are advantages, except for the taxes.
Well I do have to say there are wonderful people on here that can help you out about the 510. (mine are the 808).
I just placed an order with Mister-E-Liquid today. I have heard great things about it, especially their ice flavors.

Hey Samazon and welcome back! LOTS of stuff has happened since 2010, and I think you will be wowed by the "eGo Twist" 650 battery, with Kanger clearomizers (or even better the eGo Excaliber clearomizers as all the bits are replaceable - and therefore cheaper than replacing the whole atomizer/cartridge if part of it breaks, stops working etc. I've had excellent luck with both these and the eGo Twist, and the opportunity to change the battery voltage from 3.2 to 4.8 is a lot of fun, giving your juices a new dimension to try. All you need i/are the battery (or 2) which last a good 5-6 hours between charges, a couple of Kanger 2.2-2.4 ohm clearomizers, correct voltage power cord for battery, and a new juice or two. A whole bunch of incredible vendors have blossomed since you bought your trusty 510 ( I started on the same and converted my sister on one too). I'm not a fan of fruits myself. Definitely into the tobacco flavors personally so I can't help you there except to say that some of the most dedicated tobacco flavor fans have stated that EVEN the non-tobacco juices are as Excellent as their superlative tobacco at Ahlusion. Others are highly rating Heathers Heavenly Vapes, Alice in Vapeland and NiteLiteVapor - though the latter you need to keep an eye on their sub-forum here to catch them the 2 times a month they open. as they get knocked out flat by the thousands of rampaging hordes who order tubs of their flavors!

I have tried French Vanilla (4 stars), Fuzzy Navel (4 stars), Strawberry Cheesecake (2 stars, I just wasn't a fan. I think I don't like Strawberry, because I haven't found one that I like yet.), Hop Scotch (5 stars, one of my all day vapes, its delicious!), Grasshopper (5 stars) and Frozen Lime Drop (I am still deciding if I like it or not. I'm not a huge Lime fan, but it is good.Maybe 4 stars). It helps that I live like 4 miles from them, so I've been visiting pretty frequently for the last week (When I discovered them) and trying whatever I can get my hands on!

Thank all of you guys!

Back in the day we had attys, batteries and carts... gonna have to do some research on this clearomizer thing!

Edit: The more I read about ohms, wattage, and voltage the more I want to cry. I feel so dumb! I need to make a point to sit and watch some videos and do some note-taking at home (not at work where I usually forum crawl)... but I'm not buying a new kit til the 25th so I have some time!

Noooo! Don't cry!!! If it helps, I'm as clueless as they come about anything electrical. So..what do I do?.... I email the vendors to ask them what the best thing is for the best whatnot. I'd suggest the eGo Twist 650 battery, an appropriate wall power lead/charger, and either Kanger or 510 Excalibur clearomizers in the 2.2 - 2.4 ohm range (they are described by ohm rating on the vendors' websites btw). The Excaliburs are kind of fun, because the atomizer, wick and tanks are all replaceable so a few complete ones and a small bag of the individual spare parts is a lot cheaper than tossing away an entire one when only 1 piece needs replacing (theyre also a lot easier to clean this way too).
