Hi. I have been using the subtank mini for a while now. First i had leaks when using the occ coils. I had leaks using original coils and replacement coils. Every time i thought i had solved the leaks prety soon i would find my tank leaking again. I was told to use the rba instead which solved the problem. No more leaks. Thing is after a few months with the rba i am now getting burnt hits quite often and not much flavour. I am using 26awg 0.5ohm pre built coils. I am installing the coil and wicking correctly as far as i know by watching tutorials online. I have cleaned the tank, base and rba. I vape at 15watts as any higher it gets to hot or i get burnt hits. I am thinking of giving up on the subtank mini and kbox mod. I like the look of the smok tfv4 mini and would prefere to use the pre bought coils with it not the rba. I was considering buying the mismec reuleaux rx200 with the full size tfv4 but to be honest it seems too big and powerfull for my needs. I would like something that can blow half decent clouds at home but is also small enough to take out and can be turned down so i can hide at back of cinema and vape. The eleaf pico with melo tank looks good but i am not sure of battery life and i want a top fill tank. Any advice/info much appreciated.

Most Dry or burned hitz are causef by too much cotton crammed in the coil.

You want the wick tight but still loose enough to slide back and forth in the coil.

Try that and see if your vape improves.

Years ago i vaped a Subtank Nano and rebuilt the OCC heads for it.

Welcome to ECF, Bolzy! And It sounds like I should also welcome you to the trials and tribulations in your search for "that perfect vape." As far as your problems with the Subtank Mini, I have little to offer as I have not experienced those problems using the full and mini with prebuilt coils for over a year. But if it was good with the rba, but not with pre-built, it must be something with the coils. Play with the wicking on the rba is the only thing I can suggest.

As for the rest, you're kind of trying to hit both ends of the spectrum.....good clouds and stealth vape. You can do both with one mod, but the clouds are going to equate to less battery time. A single 18650 mod will be smaller at the cost of battery life, but a spare battery or two can be carried along......IN A CASE, of course. There are some dual 18650 mods that are relatively small, which will increase your battery life.....like the Sigelei 213, but it has some issues that may or may not be important to you (research before you buy!) But I am liking mine and its great battery life in power mode.

For tanks, I would suggest getting at least 2, one for the clouds and one for stealth. I really like the TFV4 and mini, but would find it difficult to cut it back, especially in a theater (which I do not recommend, but that's just me). I can do fairly well discretely vaping with my sub mini or Atlantis after holding it in for a bit. And with the two tanks, you can load the 50/50 juice in your "stealth" set-up and put some 70/30 vg-pg (or there abouts) in the TFV4 for some enjoyable clouds.

And that should be a good start on your vaping collection! There will always be something that looks/performs a little better for you. Good luck!
