Hi

I am from the UK and i have been using an APV i bought from the market to help me beat smoking... yesterday it just fell apart in my hands... so now that i know vaping works for me, im looking into buying a decent APV.

This forum is huge and has loads of info.. its a bit hard trying to find what i need in all honesty :)

could someone possibly help me with a link or some advice on a decent make of APV thats available in the UK please.

I bought five

Seriously though. The Provari by Provape is pretty much the best built APV you can buy. Not the most feature-rich, not the device that pushes the most watts, but it withstands drops like a champ. I don't own one yet because I'm holding out for inevitable version 3, but I've played around with one and it just feels extremely solid. And quite heavy too.
If I wanted a feature-rich device with serious power above 100 pounds, I'd probably pick up the VaporShark DNA30 refresh. That's a box mod however, not a cylinder.

I'm a bit of a geek myself, so I'm also tempted by the really flashy stuff out there like the Joyetech eVic, but such devices concern me in terms of durability.

And that's totally disregarding the clone market. I'm a no clones kind of guy myself, but if you don't mind buying clones, you will get a whole lot more bang for your pounds.

Tell us something about you! What is your lifestyle? What is your vape-budget? How do you like to vape? If you are an average vaper with an outdoors type lifestyle, or clumsy like me, I suggest an e-LVT. I think you can get them on ebay for $60.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Congratulations on converting to vaping!

I have to second the VTR. I've had one since they came out and love it. In fact I just bought a second one this morning. The tank being semi-enclosed by the body makes it a nice, neat, package. They are a little pricey though. I have a 134 as well and also like it quite a bit, but it is big.

If you want to try out VV/VW mods and stay with a tubular form factor, try a Vamo. I have two, again since they came out, and they work really well and cost less than half what a VTR or 134 costs.

If you do go with a mod that takes replaceable batteries stick with good, name brand, unprotected, IMR batteries like Panasonic or AW. Don't cheap out on a charger for them. Quality pays off in the long run. I use an Xtar VP1 and it works very well.

This can get a little confusing and overwhelming, but it is well worth the effort.

One last comment, always have a backup for the backup of your backup. You though nothing of having an open pack of twenty cigarettes and, maybe, a spare pack as well. The same is true for vaping.

thanks for the reply's and help... its appreciated.... Bit more about my lifestyle...

I have totally done away with smoking when im not drinking.. i beat that years ago.. However, when i have a few beers i just find it impossible not to smoke.. since by daughter has been born, im 100% commited to stoping that.

so im after a cylinder shaped apv thats sturdy and well made... am i best looking for one that takes batteries rather than one with rechargable unit?

my budget is around £50-100 ... the Provari is £200 and is a little out of my price range at present
Oh wow, that's terribly overpriced. They retail for less than $200 (depending on finish) in the USA.

That kind of makes me wonder if it's worth it to import one from The States instead.

The Vamo v5 is an okay mod. I have one but it's collecting dust ever sense I got the MVP2.
The MVP2 is a great little kicker for the money. Box mods look awkward to hold but they actually aren't unless they got the button and display placement all messed up. I also like how pocket friendly they are.

Once you have a list of possibilities, I highly recommend going out to YouTube and search for "PBusardo and X" (X being the mod you are looking for). He's a well respected member of the e-cig community and does great in-depth reviews of mods and other hardware.

Here's his review of the VAMO v5. A PBusardo Review - The VAMO V5
