Hello everyone,
I just got a 601 pipe after smoking a pipe for 40years. I'm thinking it will be pretty good but it's not working reliably yet (I'm sure it's my fault) so I could use some advice.
first, I have to suck quite hard to get the light to light and vapour to appear. Also, it doesn't light every time, sometimes it takes 3 or 4 pulls.
secondly, can I remove the heater thingy (atty?) for maintenance (or do I need to?)
Any help appreciated . . .(and any tips)
Thanks . . .

LOL are you part hawk...that was soooo fast

Welcome to the forum Popeye and congrats on your quit. I have never tried a pipe PV before but we have a sub forum found here DSE 601 *Pipe*

Once you have made a few more posts on ECF you can go and ask anything pertaining to your pipe there. Hope this helps :)

Hello & welcome from another UK member :)

I've also no experience of the 601 pipe, but as Beans & Vapoor say, get your post count up to 5 & wait for the forum software to update & you will be able to ask in the DSE 601 pipe sub forum & in the meantime read there.

So just come & chat to us for a while in the meantime :)

Some thoughts, are your batteries fully charged & your atomiser nice & wet but not flooded? And also make sure no juice has got onto your battery & atomiser contacts.

You can welcome people. How long are you vaping? BTW Chrissie is highly regarded here at ECF and knows all the good vendors in the UK with the best prices.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the welcome. You say 'get my posts up to 5, then I can ask the pipe-people'. What's a post? (Is this comment a post?) and if not, how can I ask a question 4 more times (if no-one knows the answers) so I can get to the pipe-people? LOL

yes, each time you comment it is counted as a post.

as far as the 601 pipe...

the entire pipe assembly excluding the battery cover cap and the mouthpiece is the atomizer. its not a removable atomizer.

it sounds like the switch in your pipe is just not very good. these are not the best made devices available. unfortunately there is really not much you can do to fix the switch up. its just a case of it is what it is.

the cartridges also dont really feed so great. when i had a 601 pipe, i got to the point that i abandoned hope for the device and when that happened i started dripping into the device knowing it would probably eventually kill the pipe. much to my surprise the pipe lasted for several weeks after that.

i finally had the great idea to turn the pipe into a passthrough cause i was just looking for more than the battery could provide. i tested it with a wire and some aligator clips connected to the spring and that little lever that goes on the top of the battery and it worked so well it was really nice. thats when i learned if you try to drill a 3/16" hole directly in the bottom of the pipe you will hit the wires destroying the pipe. so if you want to try turning it into a passthrough, drill in the front of the pipe ;)

if you are a serious pipe smoker and want a serious PV then you should google up a place called epipemods and check out that guys stuff. he makes insanely crazy stuff but its costly.

Well, if you do like JB89 says, if you do give up on it, make sure to take it totally apart to see how it works. You might be able to fix it. That said, I know nothing about the pipe look so they might seal the whole thing in acrylic or something anti-DIY.

If you want to kinda rush your post count up, say hi to the new people and congratulate them on quitting. :D

Oh, and welcome, and congrats on quitting.
