Advice please??

I hope someone here can advise me.

I quit the cigs on 1st January and started vaping a few days later as an
alternative to nicotine patches.

I started with the disposable ones .. didn’t like the taste, so I opted for
filled cartridges, and batteries which I charged with a screw-in usb
charger plugged into my computer. The sensation was satisfying enough, but the
carts never lasted long and the batteries kept dying on me. It was getting quite
expensive .. new batteries every other week at almost £10 a time, and a pack and
a half of cartridges a day at £8 per pack. So I’ve moved on to refillable
cartridges and tobacco vapour and use a portable charger .. which does run
cheaper, but I still have the same problem really. And even when I upgraded to
the 50mm empties, a newly filled cart rarely lasted longer than an hour or so,
and then I’d find I was either sucking in air again, or else the battery tip
started flashing.

Now, I’m surrounded by vaping paraphernalia, and I seem to spend my entire
day desperately making sure I’ve got a spare charged battery (often I don’t ..
because they run out of power so quickly), filling up cartridges with fluid, and
ordering batteries/cartridges/ vapour on line earlier enough to ensure they
arrive before I run out!! (and also hoping that my batteries won’t explode in my
face because they get so damn hot!)

It’s an absolute nightmare! I just don’t know where I’m going wrong because
friends who are also vaping don’t seem to have this problem. They just attach a
cartridge, and away they go! And some of them are still using the same two
batteries they got with their ‘starter packs’ months ago .. without any hassle
at all.

Can someone please recommend a mode that will give me at least a days
vaping on just one battery (or at the most two), and preferably one that doesn’t
involve filling cartridges every half an hour? I’m getting through vapour like
no-ones business. Ideally, I’d like a mode that doesn’t use damn batteries at
all!

I want to keep trying because on the odd occasion when I do get it right
(I’d say about one drag in 10) it’s great! But that one decent drag is costing
me a lot of money and effort.

If someone is kind enough to respond, can they do so without using all the
snazzy technical terms I’ve seen used elsewhere on the forum?

Thanks

(I’m currently using JAC 30mm and 50mm refillable cartridges, JAC 30ml PGNG
tobacco vapour, V3i55 batteries (whatever that means) and a rather snazzy JAC
portable charger.

Jo

ps. And just how ‘toxic’ IS the nicotine vapour? Am I supposed to wear
gloves when handling it?

I'd suggest you get away from the cartridges, and go to a real tank-style head, like an EVOD, or a CE4/CE5/CE6 or something similar.

EVODs look like this:
https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10004861/1641800-authentic-evod-bottom-coil-clearomizers-1-5ml-5

CE4's look like this:
https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10004692/1458700-ce4-round-mouth-clearomizers-7-pack-1-6ml

For a battery, the MVP would be my suggestion. Great value and features, built like a tank. An MVP looks like this:
https://www.fasttech.com/products/0...entic-innokin-itaste-mvp-variable-voltage-apv

If you don't want something that big, look for an ego or an ego twist. (The twist lets you vary the voltage). They look like this:
https://www.fasttech.com/products/0...c-twist-1100mah-variable-voltage-rechargeable

Nicotine vapor is not toxic. The small amounts of nic in the vapor are about as deadly as the caffeine in your coffee.

I have drawers full of batteries and cartridges from previous attempts to quit smoking. What you are experiencing is pretty common with the "cig-alikes". Try to find an EVOD starter kit and order it. Get one with Variable voltage/Wattage. They are relatively inexpensive and will give a good amount of service. I started this way and it gave me plenty of everything to get me off the smokes. During this time, I did my research and ventured out from there. The great thing was that I didn't have to fool around with trying to get it to work and wanting to choke someone while doing so. I still have the original and keep it for a backup in case something I have stops working. It still works and I can pick it up at any time and keep on trucking. I hope this helps.

Well at least you found a good place for information.

    First hint:
The more it looks like a real cigarette the worse it's going to work.
    Second hint:
Gaining knowledge about anything is a process ... not an event. So be patient, and do a lot of reading while you are here.

There is an abundance of different ways to vape, and it's difficult to say what someone else will like. You being in the UK also gives you different options than what we have here in the US.

I would suggest something like this starter kit to learn how to vape with. You should be able to find a like kit locally. But, don't be surprised, when after a short while, you want something even bigger & better.

Timbuck's suggestion is a good one. The Innokin MVP has a 2600 mAh battery (if memory serves) and can last for hours. I went to the Innokin VTR which uses standard, easily found 18650 batteries that can be swapped out easily. May seem a little pricey to start but the long run is cheaper.

Or something like this is a decent kit:

    http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

I used one like that for almost a year. I'm a pretty heavy vaper but got around 6 hours of use per charge on an 1100 mAh battery.

By the way, "mAh" is just a measure of battery capacity. Bigger the number, the longer the battery lasts before needing charging. So you don't have to care what it "means" exactly unless you want to. ;)

Though keep in mind bigger batteries can also take longer to recharge. So if you get an "eGo" kit like the link above, you want at least two batteries so one can charge while the other is in use. I kept three around myself.

here's my suggestion to all new vapers....all you need is liquid and all your frustrations will disappear... Kanger Evod Starter Kit

excellent price , with instructions. can't beat it IMO :D i know people who use these set-ups that have been vaping a lot longer than me. best of luck!

I dunno that vendor myself but I do like EVODs. Still using mine with the VTR. Just wish the "adapter" wasn't seventy feet tall. ;)

I started with a double Kanger Evod starter kit and then got a MVP2.0. It's my daily vape with either a evod or protank 2 or 2mini tank and I carry a ego battery for back up. The MVP will stay charged up to 2.5 days without a charge and I'm a heavy stress free vaporer. Good luck! I hope you find what works best for you.

I knoq exactly what you are going through. Been there!

I also think you would be a prime candidate to graduate to an innokin MVP as well. Make sure to get the newer 2.0 model however. It's a boxy mod that holds a very large charge that you can use for a few days--actually you can charge it and vape at the same time if you need to.

You just need to add a topper of your choice but you can start with the included iclear topper that comes with the kit. Fill the iclear up with liquid, dial in your wattage and then vape the rest of the day hassle free.

Lizziedrip, 7 1/2 mos. ago I bought my very first device for vaping after researching first the cig-a-likes, then the Egos/Spinners, then wound up looking at the MVP. Since I was a chain smoker, the length of battery charge was important to me.

Well, the MVP looked kind of large on the computer screen; and I am the kind of person who wants to see and touch what I'm about to purchase. Found myself at vape store 13 miles away holding these various devices in my hands, and was happy to see that the MVP was not as large as it looked on screen. Matter of fact, sort of had the same feel as my tennis rackets I used to play with. Also, I could plug this thing in to the wall outlet (not on your computer!) and vape away while charging. Bought it, still got it, still use it even though I've since then acquired a ProVari.

I'm not technically astute, but didn't need to be. Thank goodness! So get yourself an easy tank (I've used the ProTanks and Davide's) and a MVP 2 and you'll be set for a bit while you do some more research on ECF about the ins and outs of various products that grabs your interest!!!! :D

I started yesterday with a single eCom. It's a bit expensive and finicky but I was immedeatly converted to vaping. At home you can just charge it and keep vaping with it (passthrough with micro usb).

I've now ordered more expensive stuff but it takes a lot of googling and head scratching. Got the iTaste VTR as a battery mod and 2 Panasonic NCR-18650B 3400 mAh. I'm pretty sure it's overkill but I don't think once those accus are finally fully charged they will just never run out of juice again. Ever ;)
Probably the iTaste MVP is a more sensible and cheaper option since it has passthrough as well.

But now I'm looking at a better clearomizer. And I got to find better juices... it never ends. I love it ;)

    Hello Lizzie.

I feel your anguish. I have been there.

I used E-Lites and then JacVapour. The E-lites were useless and little short of daylight robbery. The JacVapour's nearly got me off the cigarettes, but the issues you are having with battery life and being overrun with cartomisers is totally normal.

In reality, these systems are poor. E-Lites charge £3.99 for one refill. JacVapour are cheaper (and better ) for £1.30 (?) but we can actually buy these refills for the princely sum of

    £1

That's right. One of the best cartomizers on the market is actually only £1. I use two of these a day if I am using this sort of system.

    One year E-lites = £2,912 per year.
One year JacVapour = £991 per year.

Independent product = £730 per year.

    - - -

However, this won't solve you battery problems.

For that, you'll need better batteries, bigger and longer lasting.

    - - -

So, for the cheapest running costs and getting a battery to last a day, what you need is an EGO e-cig. Have a look on this website and ask any questions.

    Starter Kits

I can help you find something good and something not too expensive. If you just "google" you could get ripped off.

These bigger battery kits have tanks which require filling, but it's easy enough to do, and you can fill one a day, or maybe 2 if you want to switch flavours.

(I have about 5 on the go....)

Please ask, I am keen to help.
