Just saying hello as new here and wondered on anyone's thoughts on what people are finding best on the Aegis 100. I'm a builder and been vaping for about 5 and a half years so when I heard about this mod i hoped it would be a great work tool. I'm using the 26650 ijoy and basen batteries.
So far my best battery life has been using the kylin around 55 watts and still not getting great life from it (less than half a day).

Hi TheBuiscuit, and welcome to ECF. I'm not sure a lot of the newer size batteries have been tested by our resident expert Mooch, so you may not have the specs that are written on the battery. You could check HERE: Mooch's blog | E-Cigarette Forum and see if your batteries have been tested yet.

Assuming your battery life is not vastly superior to say a Sony VC6 or whatever, I wouldn't be surprised that your batteries are giving you about a half day's use at those wattages, since it is really a single battery mod, and even with slightly larger capacity (possibly) it's still a single battery mod, so at those wattages I'm not sure I'd think that I would be getting more than a half a day at those wattages....

I'd try to find out more about the batteries you have and if there is a better option for you to get more life. If it's what you need for durability and IF you have a place to store an extra battery safely (not in your car, for instance) I would probably do that, although you could certainly try a higher resistance build and vape it at lower wattages.

Good luck, welcome to ECF and Merry Christmas as well :)

Anna

Welcome from Canada, where we're experiencing a nasty snowstorm...

I have 2 Aegis, and can't say enough good about them. I've put my other mods on a shelf since getting g my first Aegis. The battery life is not as great as most dual 18650 mods, but I expected as much, and always carry a spare (or two). I run mine at 37.5 watts, using a .25ohm coil.
BTW, I washed one in the sink today, proving the waterproof properties to my son. It passed. Do the update to 1.23, and enjoy a wattage lock, resistance lock, and a few other tweaks. I replaced the black vinyl sticker with real leather, getting rid of the red stitching. Easy to do.
The ModShieldz silicone case is a perfect fit, if you want the mod to be even more protected and a bit larger (I have huge hands).
Congratulations on a great mod!

I’ve got an ageis and use an aromamizer 7 plus on it, which is a pretty thirsty mod. I’ve had to go single coil to get reasonable battery life. Remember the 26650 is jut an 18650 with about 40% more milliamperes. It will only put out 3.5-4.1v max. This means if you’re running above 4v you have to use the joule thief feature on your mod to make up the difference and that drains batteries very very quickly as well as working them very hard.
I’m running a single 5 wrap 22ga coil for .35ohm at 22v giving me a 2.75v draw on my batteries. This gives me the better part of a day from a battery, but I still need to carry a just in case spare with me.

Cheers guys I like the build quality of the mod and as a plasterer it is likely to get wet at some point. I'm going to try a few single coil builds in the pharaoh rda as it's Christmas and I don't have be at work (I can never drip at work with so much dust about). I had read on here the original firmware was the best for battery life but can't remember if it was as far as 1.23?

Thanks Anna already check moochs test and the ones I have perform quite well compared to others.
Glad I have enough to get me through the day with others charging as they take an age to charge.
Welcome and glad you joined.
A few folks have trouble defining what they want, (battery life, moisture/contamination, juice consumption) looks like your on the path to get that perfect mod.

I think we are all chasing the dream of that perfect marriage of mod, top and liquid. I'm happy with a few right now

I've finally got there with a happy medium. Thanks for your help. Update 1.23 is a lot better and yes the coil lock is needed. I've used some SS flat Clapton I had left over, 5 wraps came in at .28ohm and running at 40watt is drawing 3.32v and I get all day from one battery now using either the ijoy or basen.
Thanks again.

I use ijoy 26650s with the aegis and currently a .13Ω dual coil @ 35-45 watts and it lasts me 3/4 to a whole day usually. The original firmware has wayyy better battery life by almost 100 puffs when i tried out the upgrades.

I've been using the aspire revvo with the aegis 100 and getting most of the day at 80 watts. It uses the new arc coils .13 ohms and is only drawing 3.33 volts at that wattage.

Do you like the Revvo? Looks nice, but I'm a bit on the fence about it.
