Aegis X With Cerberus Tank

Hi @DogsOfWars, Ive been reading your thread about your vaping journey with the Aegis X Mod and Cerberus tank. In my opinion the mod and tank your using is not the right set-up to use in order to make the switch from smoking to vaping.
The Aegis x mod with Cerberus tank is a powerful DTL vape kit. Its a really good set-up and perfect for the more experienced vaper, those wishing to vape at higher power and blow big clouds and get good flavor.

Because the Cerberus coil requires around the 30W mark to get a good vape, the nicotine strength your using is too high for this tank/coil. You will get a harsh throat hit.

To get you off the smokes, you would be suited to a less powerful device, ideally a MTL set-up such as a pod type device. This will operate and give you an ideal type of vape your looking for to mimic that of smoking. The juice your using i.e. the nic strength will be less harsh in this type of device.

The majority of the pods i have are perfect at around 10W as the coils in them dont require a higher wattage to achieve the perfect vape.

Most of all, dont panic. Making the switch can take a while before you find the ideal vape set-up and juice flavour and strength that satisfies you personally.

What worked for me when I first started vaping was to have about 4 different vape kit devices and you will find that you will prefer one of them better than the others.......to start with. Over time as you gain a better understanding and more experience, the devices that you were not so keen on will come into their own as you move forward on your vaping journey.

This morning I have been using the Aegis X on 17W with the air flow half closed and I also have been doing a long slow draw and it seems like this is working out pretty good, I am still getting the hit as well as the flavor a decent vape cloud and without a overly powerful harshness to the throat. I will use this today all day long and see how it goes. When I get that ZLIDE Tank I will try this 12mg in it and see how it goes, If the nic

seems like it is to strong to do all day long then I will drop the nic to 6mg, Of course more then likely I will half to mess with the wattage on the Aegis X and the airflow on the ZLIDE Tank just like I have had to do on the Aegis X and the Cerberus Tank to see how it goes, I plan on getting a backup Kroma-Z Pod Mod Kit but it will be next month till I can do this, Our mail is pretty crazy with this Covid going on it takes are mail forever to get here anymore. Looks like this is day five of my vaping journey

Update:
I can also use the Aegis X on 30W airway open but with a shorter inhale draw with a nice throat hit still and better increased flavor which is AWESOME best in 4 days so far. Have tried this out when working outside in my garage today, (Maple syrup flavor is great)

Well looks like it is day five of the vaping experience and my journey. I used the Aegis X pretty much all day with half airflow and 18W, Without feeling any dizziness today, I think I will leave this setting the way it is till I receive the ZLIDE Tank the extra Z coils and the lower 6mg e liquid in the mail this

week and then will go from there, Nothing else I can really do at the moment. I only smoked 2 cigarettes today so I consider it pretty good since I do not have the proper or correct MTL setup yet. We have ice on our roads up here so cant even drive anywhere. Hope you all are doing well today and staying safe.

I am glad you are sticking with it. I like MTL and DTL. I started to read the first couple pages of this thread and didn't really know if the coils you received would work at those lower wattage settings. I think you'll like the Zlide. Did you get the 4ml Zlide? I really like that one. It sounds like you are on the right track. I would think that the higher nic liquid would be fine on the Zlide tank but you'll have to see for yourself.

Well not much to add today really still waiting on my stuff in the mail. Been using the Aegis X on 19W today with the 12mg e liquid still, It is going okay for me I guess, Slow long draws seem to do best for me without the harshness and I am still getting a decent vape and flavor. Only had 1 cigarette this morning when I first woke up other then that I have vaped all day, No I take that back that ZLIDE Tank that I am waiting on in the mail is a 2ml Tank, Went with that one because wasn't sure if there would be to much over hang with the 4ml tank on the Aegis X are not, I am okay with it holding less e liquid. Hope you all are doing well today. Looks like it is day six of the continued vaping journey.

The zlide 2ml has a tighter airflow than the 4ml. It was too tight for me so I’ve been sticking with the 4. The 4 would fit on the aegis just fine.

I will just half to see how it does for me. I sure am not gonna cancel the order now, It has already been over 4 days and it still is not here lol, The mailing system is so slow these days, Wow just checked wont be here till the 20th ouch.

Yes, shipping is slow with all the bad weather across the country. I ordered something for my wife on the 8th that was supposed to arrive by the 12th via FedEx and haven’t gotten it yet.

Yep shipping is all messed up down here. Believe it or not I am waiting for an old fashioned churchkey bottle opener. During the last year lids for canning jars have been nearly impossible to get so I switched to reusable lids. What I didn't know until last week is reusable lids are nearly impossible to open with a standard jar opener. So yeah we have lots of food in the pantry. I just can't open the freaking jars.

As for vape orders my final one squeeked in right before the storm started. I think I am done with ordering. These were I wants not I needs really. I just don't see much of anything out there that can even peak my interest in the I want category. Now it is true the picking out there are getting slim. Between the coming vape mail ban and Chinese New Year it is worse than usual this time of year.

I Was up all night throwing up having chills and spitting out the worst mucus you can imagine and on top of that a headache from hell. Lets see this is day seven of this all new vaping experience, Lets keep it going. Hope you all are doing well and staying warm it sure is cold here on my end. Had a bowl of chili now back to bed we go.

It may have been a dehydration headache. Vaping a lot, just like smoking a lot, dehydrates you. Get into the habit of drinking at least 16oz of plain water a day At lest. Drink water.

Those are some serious withdrawal symptoms if you also me, if in fact that's what you were experiencing. Never have that experience myself, not even a little.

I've heard of a few people with similar experiences but never had anything like that happen myself. Hopefully it doesn't last long.

Store bought flavorings containing oil should probably not be used for vaping.

Agree, food flavourings are not made from natural flavourings not water-soluble and are full of sugar which will not do you any good. (I had no idea there was 7 pages my mistake)

Well I have been in the bed for the last 2 days so it seems, I went to the doctor looks like I have the flu, Anyways got that ZLIDE today in the mail finally, Tried that new 0.5-ohm coil out did not like it really, Seems like the e liquid was a little to warm for my liking at 19W. So put that 1.6-ohm coil in and at 14W highest recommended wattage and one hole open I get pretty much the throat hit I am looking for that is like those Marlboro Special Blend cigarettes I use to smoke of


course I will continue to adjust the best I can with this tank. Lets see I think this is day eight of this vaping journey. The ZLIDE Tank is a good update over the Cerberus Tank for sure, Instant results I see and taste for sure, And no leaking. Am still gonna get a Kroma Z but it wont be till next month, This will half to do till then. Hope you all are doing well today.

Yes, some coils will be warmer than others at sub-ohm resistances. For instance, I like Eleaf EC coils at 0.5 ohms but Kanger OCC coils at 0.5 ohms at the same wattage is way too warm for my taste.

Glad the 1.6ohm works for you. From what I read, that seems to be the most popular resistance around here for the Z=coil.

I just realized something over looked it completely they sent the wrong tank. This is a ZENITH Tank not the ZLIDE Tank at all, Yeah I know am half a sleep here, Went and looked at there web site, They had the ZENITH priced more then the ZLIDE, But I was suppose to get a ZLIDE that is what was ordered not the ZENITH, I wonder if they know the difference you would think that they would considering they are selling both. Oh well guess this will half to do. Oh well good thing these both use the Z coils in them, Rock Bottom Vapes grrr. Took over 9 days to get here hell I will just use it. lol

From what I understand the Zenith is the older model. IIRC, it cannot be taken apart for a nice, thorough cleaning like the Zlide can and you cannot change the class on the Zenith. But Don't quote me on all that.

Yeah they sent the wrong one for sure, I wanted the ZLIDE. Gees why is it when we pay for something these days you seem to never get what you pay for, It clearly shows on my order ZLIDE not ZENITH lol
