I can not speak on Halo's behalf as I dont know what they discuss about business matters behind closed doors.... but I am going to say joining an association like AEMSA is a waste of time and money. Its all just an association started by several "low-mid" brands to appear as if they have more credibility.
Application fee: $500 due at acceptance of application (nonrefundable)
Monthly Dues: $758
$1500 per initial scheduled inspection
That is a hefty sum to pay for a "not for profit" group to use their sticker
Not to mention they have been around for about 3 years and there is only 21 members vs the hundreds of companies still out there?
Half their committee board is from the same company.... just doesnt smell right.
I have been a Union carpenter for 13+ years (not going to say our association is a saint, because it isnt. But it pays good and I can run it out for another 10 years before it collapses on itself), and my father has been a Union electrician for over 30+ years. We both have stories about this kind of stuff. Associations like theses start out with good intentions, but inevitably most turn into an industry that becomes a moneygrab that will look the other way to protect their own self interests, if they havnt already.
When it comes down to it, the company is paying for the right to use a sticker to say "yes, we follow the standards set by this group". But if you read the AEMSA standards of practices, all that is stuff that the high quality manufacturers are already doing. So why pay all that money to be able to say "told you so"?
Maybe its the booze talking now, cause i feel like I am jumping all over the place with my sentences, but i feel it would not be in Halo's best interests to join. And looking for juice with the AEMSA logo should not be a priority in your juice search
