the old dual coils for the pt3 do fit fine. either coil lasts me up to 5 days. never less than 3. to give you an idea about that , I exhaust a vtc 5 in less than 2 hours. I vape about 6-7 hours a day at that rate! I have only had one bad kanger coil a long time ago and I have used over 500. I buy cases! the nautilus coils were $4 each. the kangers cost me $1 each in a case purchase.

sdh, I honestly mean no insult so don't take this wrong please. I was just wondering. you have 10.3k posts and you don't use a rba? I was just wondering because even though I only have a few hundred posts I am really a veteran vaper. i vastly prefer the kanger! i don't need the absolute best vape. i prefer to not sit and build coils. on the other hand i guess i have had much better longevity and quality with the coils. like i said i too feel it is pretty darn close to my kfl+. if you really want an rba get a clone of a nicer one. so long as the kanger coils work you might find yourself going back if you dislike building as much as i do.

well honestly, i am older and it is probably more difficult for me to build than some other folks here.

thank you. I really appreciate that we all care that each other do not use tobacco. I have a boge etc. I just like the kanger better. the rba's are better but I will take the trade off that I don't have to build. it is good enough for me. remember, cigarettes were never like this to begin with. honestly right now if I never smoked and someone let me choose id take vaping. my feeling is tobacco is just as bad as narcotics and honestly it is disgusting.

I have rebuildable attys but no rebuildable tanks such as the kafun. LOL, until recently I would have never considered it.

UPDATE: I pulled the pin out of the Nautilus head that failed with high resistance in 4 hours. Under a magnifier I could see that the silicone grommet was split where the wire was pressed against the center pin. That in itself would cause a resistance rise as it split more and more under heat and lost some of the pressure that maintains contact. Silicone is prone to continue splitting once it's started. I expected to see burning on the grommet but silicone burns at a much higher temperature than most similar materials used in atomizer grommets.

So, maybe we are seeing new silicone grommets that aren't up to the task of pressing a thin wire against a metal body and are splitting and failing to provide proper pressure for contact. On the one that went completely open the wire had receded into the split area.

oh, you are talking about nautilus heads? I thought you were saying all the kanger heads were bad. I guess I am lucky. I have used hundreds of both and never had a premature failure.

yeah sdh that's more like it lol. id say if you are used to drippers forget a tank.. unless you just want more convenience . I went all the way from one direction to the other. it is not even close but personally I can't be bothered with that now. the aerotank mega is like the minimum that is acceptable to me.

the mega leaks from everywhere it can. I ran the ss tank dry and inhaled the wicks burning. the nautilus is of much better design. I like the vape from the mega better. plus I am enjoying the lower price of the coils. it looks better too. I just wish it did not leak all over and I knew when it was out of juice. you don't with the glass either. since half the juice is in the bottom. plus those stupid filling holes. overall good vape, poor design. I guess if I want it right there is no substitute for a good rba. the only place this has it trumped is on convenience.

Those doughnut style wicks are really nice. I cant remember where I saw them....but even though I do my own coils, I am damn near bought some.

I buddy of mine did buy some, and they worked good. He does his iwn now as well ( he ran out of them and had to do his own) so I will ask him tommorow.

These coils on the link should last you quite a while.

I make my mom coils with ekowool and 30 gauge, and it lasts her more than a month in her Russian. It would probably last longer but I cant let her go any more than that.

yeah I mean buying those is a no brainer. even for us folks that can't really build it is way more economical. that is terrific. I am not lazy. I am pretty busy but the issue is the usual assortment of problems associated with old age lol. I do not care to interest any younger people in doing that for me if they were not smokers. I really appreciate this!

Found this :

http://www.avidvaper.com/rebuildable-atomizer-coil

If the coils are really made as they are shown in the picture, then intead of just replacing the whole thing, you could take out the old ekowool, burn the coil clean, and insert new. They look better than the other as well, and come in different resistances

Easily done by making a loop with the ekowool, tying a wire or string around it (I use a piece of kanthal, but if you're not rebuilding you wont have it), and pulling it through.....as long as the coil is wide enough.

Brad, the guy who bought the doughnuts, is off today. I left him a message, will let you know about them.

Just picked up an Aerotank Mega for my partner who doesn't do rebuildables. I have many rebuildables with DNA devices so I'm used to high performance. The Aerotank Mega is the best non- rebuildable I've used ever. IMO, it outperforms the Nautilus by a good margin. I did not like the Nautilus at all. ALWAYS had problems with dry hits before long on every coil (three different batches) I tried. Even when working for a little while I found vapor production average.
