I am on day 7 of chain vaping on the same coil! It is still working like a champ :vapor:
I'm just curious what your definition of chain-vaping is, i.e. how much juice you've put through that head in the week you've been using it Also, what kind of juice is it? Is it at all sweet?

As you know, I only made it 5 days on the first head, and it wasn't my primary device. I've always been puzzled how it's possible for some people to go weeks on a head on their primary vape.

I vaped on it 1 day...and am having problems...gurgling. When I got it I changed the 1.6 coil and used the 1.8 coil that came in the box. It worked great. Decided the next day to change flavors and put in a new 1.8 coil ( ordered extra coils ). Started gurgling. So I put the 1.6 coil in from the box that too was gurgling.

I have now taken it apart, cleaned it out and am waiting for it to dry completely. I'll be putting in a brand new coil to see if the problem goes away.

The first day of vaping was fantastic....and I want that experience back.

Yep, I really wonder if this is much of the problem people have had with PT2's; some devices simply not providing them with enough airflow...

I believe so; the airflow has to get to the 3 little holes in the 510 thread, go down bttween the atomizer and the 510 thread cylinder to the bottom of the atomizer where it contacts with the battery, then up though the atomizer.

By using a miniprotank base instead which goes on the outer eGo threads, there is no 510 threaded cylinder to zigzag through.

Yeah, but.. The device I'd want to use my old PT2s on doesn't have eGo threads, and I'm not going to take the Rube Goldberg things even further with a 510-to-eGo adapter. Aerotank bases (now available separately) strike me as a rather more elegant solution. ;)

Oh! Yes, that right; this is the aerotank thread! Yeah, getting that new kanger base and put on the old protank2 should solve the airflow problem best.

I got my Aerotank today and filled it up right away with some Lemon Cheesecake from Zen VR and let it sit for 10 minutes before I started vaping on it. Overall, it's a very nice tank, well built, looks nice, I really like the air control base, and it provides a pretty good vape. I did have a couple of minor issues with it though. I'm using it on an iTaste VV3 at the moment so it's a bit top heavy, but if I screw it in all the way, it doesn't fire and I get an error reading when I try to check the coil resistance. That's not that big of a deal though, I just loosen it slightly. The vapor, TH, and flavor are there, but I feel like it could wick a little better? Maybe it's the coils.. they aren't bad but they aren't performing as great as I was hoping. Maybe I will try to rebuild one it at some point or try some different coils (I tried both coils, the other one was slightly worse). I do have an extra Mini Protank 2 coil.. would that work?

Edit: Ok I found a random coil and popped it on in place of the previous dual coil and it fits and works. I guess it's probably the spare coil from my Mini protank 2... not really sure. Either way, it works. Besides the dual coil tanks for Protank 3 and Aero, are all the other Protank coils the same?

The protank1, protank2, miniprotank1&2, EVOD, SmokTech ARO, and several other tanks, all use the same protank coil.

The new kanger dual coil wont fit in the old tanks by itself, but they did the right thing by making it so the new coil AND the base together will fit on the old protank; (might not fit on the miniprotanks though).

So I think I've got this coil back to being usable. Soaked it in water for most of a day, let it dry, and dry burned it. Started slowly, with short pulses. Took my time and didn't let the head itself get too hot for fear of frying the grommets. However, the big clump of stuff didn't burn off, it justgot real brittle. I ended up breaking it apart by squeezing it with tweezers. Then dry-burned it some more. Here's what it looks like now:

What bothers me is that I can't see the lower coil and how much crap might still be stuck on it. Oh well, when my second head gets gunked up in a few more days, I'll put this one back in to see how it performs. But I bought a few more brand-new spares just to be safe. ;)

That's the trouble with sticking 2 coils inside 1 little atomizer head; hard to dry burn. Sometimes I wish they'd just put two atomizer heads, one in bottom as usual, and another one on top like a vivinova; that THAT would be a dual coil!

I vape about 7 mls a day with constant vaping. I don't really ever stop. I chain vape! I begin in the morning, and don't put it down till I sleep. All sweet juices.
I am still happily vaping on the same coil! I did buy another one, and am using that too! I am in heaven. No problems at all! I wish you guys the same experience. I have been using all different kinds of liquids in here, high vg 80%, 50/50 blend, etc? It has not gurgled or acted up at all......

Vaping on a Siegelei Legend at 5.2v mostly
