what sort of mod do you plan to use an atty on?

do you want this more for flavor or for clouds...maybe something in the middle?

what is your budget?

Do you have an ohm meter?

answer those questions... and you will find people can give you better advice.

I was thinking something like the Vamo or even the Sigelei maybe 50w.

I'd prefer flavor, I'd get enough clouds because I tend to use high VG juice.

150ish

No ohm meter.

You WILL want an ohm meter, and a very expensive one if you want to go below one ohm. Above that, an MVP2 or similar unit with an ohm meter will do just fine.

I bought a Kayfun clone today. It's a rebuildable tank atty. (RTA). Bought it because you hear so much about them. Kayfun this, and Kayfun that, and I did blah blah blah with my Kayfun.

Well, if you're new to it, Kayfun is anything BUT fun. The clones (and that's what you're gonna get, unless you wanna spend $100+ on a stinking tank) have teeny tiny screws, and the heads don't grip wire well. I was concerned more about getting a cotton wick right than the wire. Wrap it, fight with the screws, find out your coil is like 3.9 ohms, fight some more, ad nauseum.

However, after re-doing the coil 3 times, and the wick twice, I got a very working Kayfun. Now, I can start enjoying building.

I'm really interested in RBA's, are there any sites that sell kits? Or can you guys recommend a good starting point setup?

I'd consider getting an rda first;
once you get used to an rda, you know what to look for on the build deck;
stuff like the screws, the post holes if any, number of posts, airflow.

Some rba's once you put it together its not convenient to take off the coil part to adjust it

Some rba's you can assemble the top and bottom and leave out the middle tank and just use it as an rda.

The Sigelei 50w ver2, would be the way I would go.. not that the vamo is terrible.

I am partial to the Plum Veil, even the decent clones work well. I find the deck easy to build on, it can take dual coils, and the air flow works out nicely.

you really want an ohm meter seperate of the one built into your mod... and ideally you want a decent multimeter too, because sometimes you gotta check voltage.

the ohm meter can just be one of these that is built for 510 connection, that you see for $20 on a lot of sites. I got mine along with my ceramic tweezers and wire from Lightning Vapes — Lightning Vapes - Great Products, Lightning Fast Shipping! Silica Wick, Kanthal Wire, Stainless Steel Mesh, Ekowool and More! they have everything I needed for consumable supplies all in one place at a decent price, and it got to me quick.

I have to agree with getting a nice big dripper first. I actually had one. But got scared off by reading some *ahem* blogs around here, and I forgot about it. Wish I'd started by building coils on that before the Kayfun.

BTW, a loaded wick on a dripper lasts a lot longer than you think. I was under the assumption that you had to constantly keep dripping on it or get a bunch of bum hits. Not so. Even the tiny dripper I have that is no wider than an eGo will last a good 10 puffs. WITH "primer puffs). The big one will last an hour. So don't let the dripping part dissuade you. Well worth it to practice building on.

Then move on to the torture tank. :D

I run my dripper on an MVP2. I have an itaste 134 that works well with the big one. Looking at a cheap (probably clone) Vamo V5, just for the helluvit. It has a sweet display that makes the MVP2 look like something out of the 80s.

Plus, both the 134 and the V5 use common 18650 batteries, which can be changed when they go bad - whereas the MVP requires a whole new unit.

As far as the dripper, go to any chinese website, and you can get one. I like e5cigs.com, but fasttech seems to be a go to around here.

Personally, I have tons of gear to the point of absurdity. What will you most often see me with? A mech with an Igo-W or Igo-W4 with air holes drilled out to 1.3 mm with 7 wraps of 28 gauge on a 2mm mandrel. Properly built, it's tough to beat and hits way over its price point. The Igo-L is also way better than its price point and may be easier to pick up since it's a single coil. So far as mechs, I've had good luck with the Infinite stuff. Pick one which suits your fancy and have at it!

Damn a RDA does sound a lot better. Any suggestions on a mod + rba?

If you're brand new to vaping I'd recommend the mvp2 for the power side; otherwise you should consider a replaceable battery mod like the vamo, zmax or maybe even provari.

For an rda, I like the simplicity of the magma.

If I knew which kayfun to suggest I would, but I can't so I give up on that and instead, for an rba I'd say the full Russian.
