Hi y'all. I need to discuss something with y'all.

So, I have a bad habit of smoking in the bed. I have dozed off with lit cigarette in hand on many occasions. Luckily, haven't started any fires. But, I have read up on google, that a lit cigarette can initiate what is called a smoldering combustion reaction, which produces enough Carbon Monoxide to kill a person without ever starting a fire.

I am afraid now. Can this go unnoticed? Have I suffered Carbon Monoxide Poisoning without knowing it? Help!

There are carbon monoxide alarms for sale in hardware stores. Stick on wall or ceiling. Battery operated. If that is what you are worried about buy one.

But best solution don't smoke in bed.

And Cigarette smoke is full of Carbon Monoxide and Carbon Dioxide.

Hi, Panther, are you vaping at all? Now might be the time to start, maybe starting with bedtime? I don't recommend vaping until one dozes off, either, but it's got to be magnitudes better than falling asleep with a *lit cigarette, repeatedly*. I used to consider myself a smoke anywhere kinda gal, but even I drew the line at *inside the house, let alone bed*.

Also, the phrase, "Luckily, I haven't started any fires" is kind of cavalier, given what you are already NOT worrying about (dying in a fire, it can happen fast). Also, as far as carbon monoxide, you do know that you are inhaling that every time you light up, not in quantities enough to kill you, most likely, at one sitting, but over time it will. Drowning slowly and carrying around an oxygen tank are no fun *either* and an equally miserable outcome, in some ways I might pick the fire over the other option.

I'm a bit confused why you'd ask this question *here*, this is a vaping forum, but the carbon monoxide detector might give you some, ah, peace of mind, if you persist in a behavior that I think even a very young child would identify as extraordinarily dangerous.

Pick up a vape, if you haven't. Have some self control if you *are* vaping and at least do that IN BED. It sounds like you don't have a hard time falling asleep, vaping there would be a great place to start.

Best of luck!

Anna
