The Ingredients:

1.) one new Vapornine Turbo Cartomizer;
2.) Dremel drill 1.2 mm;
3.) AFS V 2;
4.) any 901 mod, preferable GGTS;
5.) 6 Volts battery set-up

The recipe:

Step 1: Take off the label and the rubber cap and clean the outside with sticker removal liquid;
Step 2: drill a hole of 1.2 mm diameter about 8 mm above the threads;
Step 3: put the cartomizer in boiling water for a few minutes and rinse to get rid of the sticker removal chemicals;
Step 4: blow out the carto, so it is almost dry, no need to let it sit overnight;
Step 5: Assemble the carto on the AFS and fill with liquid;
Step 6: be amazed of the flavor and the mega clouds;
Step 7: sit back and enjoy the ride.

Happy vaping, with Love: EMonty

I leave the sticker on mine.... The one time I tried to take it off I got that nasty fluid in their and could not get it out. So I have also found some without the sticker that work in my beta tank.

But yes this is a recipe that works really really nice in the V2 and the carto lasts and lasts. I have heard talk of HV and even LR cartos coming down the pike. Not sure if we will be able to get holes as we want them but drilling them out is really no problem when you think of the performance of the AFS with the carto. And they are cheap replacements with great flavor, throat hit, and vapor production. I agree emonty!~~ 100%

I had been reading this thread and another one as well regarding the Turbo Cartomizers. I had to try it for myself. I do peel off the sticker and spray a small shot(very small)of Gunk Bug and Tar Remover on a rag and then wipe the adhesive off. Then I use everclear 190 proof grain to wipe off any left over Gunk film. I place my thumb and forefinger over each end of the carto while doing this in order not to allow any of the Gunk to get inside the carto. No chemical taste after this and no need for me to boil I hate to boil and wait for the cartos to dry. Blowing out atty's with an air compressor can damage the carto's. Mind you I say can but not always. Strictly a preference to each indiviual. For those that do not have the 1.2mm metric drill bit sizes you can use a 5/64 drill bit for drilling the hole. I then use the round headed dremel attchment to counter sink the hole. I feel that couter sinking helps the flow of juice into the carto. Strickly a preference of my own. I just use one of the iatties to get my measurement for the distance from the threaded end of the atty to the centerline of the hole to be drilled. Any 901 atty can be used to measure it with. The Turbo Cartomizers are a tad longer than the 901 iatties. They still work great though. If you do not have the AFS mouth peice you can use a derlin drip tip. Make sure the drip tip is not too long on the botton where it comes in contact with the carto coil. If it does and you have a dremel with a cone attachment, you can ream out the bottom of the drip tip so it does not come in contact with the coil. All you are actually doing is making the hole in the bottom of the drip tip a bigger inside diameter. This will keep it from making contact with the coil. This could also be done with a metal drip tip but I find it easier to counter sink the hole in the derlin material. Also derlin drip tips are cheaper than the metal ones. You also could just trim the end down a tad on a 901 cartidge tip too. Of course the best way is to just buy a AFS mouth peice, but we all have our budgets and that what this whole concept is about anyway. IMO I think the iatties produce more vapor, but thats just me. I certainly will never be without a way to use my AFS when iatties are out of stock. Emonty this was a great idea you had. Thank you sir! I tried to mention a couple of other tips that have worked for me.

JBTX1,

yes, it is relly great. Don't need to sink the hole IMHO, just one step less to enjoy this tweak.
Concerning the drying of the atties after boiling: no need: just blow out the water and you are ready to go. It is saver to boil as you will get rid of any chemicals used for taking off the glue from the sticker. More vapor??? no way my friend, see my video in the next post, can you beat that???? :p

Lisa:

great you will sell them without the sticker and that they will have the same quality or better like the Vapornine one's (and also that cheap ;-) ) also for the slim the LR cartomizers will be superb!!! :p

Now, by 8mm above the threads, do you mean 8 mm from the bottom of the carto where it a) screws onto the battery, or b) 8mm from the top of the threads towards the mouthpiece?

to tell you the truth: It does not matter that much, I just drill the hole around 8 mm from the bottom of the cartomizer. I have some that are lower and higher, no difference buddy.

Wunderbar! Neighbor Joe, the retired tool geek, read your thread with me, and deduced that your instructions and deduced it was 'b' and used calipers to determine how deep the threads were and drilled 8mm up from that point.

So my holes on the first batch are roughly 12 mm up from the bottom and that doesn't change how the mod vapes. What kept me from jumping on this immediately is that I thought it was more difficult than it really was.

The other question is do you HAVE to remove the wrapper and glue on the cartos? I seem to recall another fellow on the gg forum reporting that he hasn't with no ill effects. Would the plastic carto wrapping a) interfere with the drilling and b) keep the glue from absorbing into the juice?

Emonty...I stated that IMO the iattys produce vapor more for me. Just a personal preference for me. If you get more from the cartos, then thats great! This isn't a contest for me. The main thing is....It was a great idea you had...but thats my own opinion too!....LOL...I thank you for sharing it with us.....Happy vaping my friend!

I don't like the idea having glue in my AFS, just my opinion... Lisa/rob will sell in the near future carto's without the label, then it will be even easier!

What I may do is drop a un modded carto in a bottle of juice that I don't really like for a week to see how it stands up. If I pull it out and the glue hasn't perforated into the juice, I may try skipping that step.

Props to you for this method, emonty!

The lower the hole is, the more liquid will be used by the AFS. If the hole can be at 6mm then all liquid inside AFS can be used

True, but the AFS holds so much juice, I don't care. With the carto if I get a burned taste, I know immediately to refill my tank ;-)
