That's fantastic. It's great to hear these kind of success stories. I've had my KGO since last week. Smoked my last cigarette at 10:00 Saturday morning, so I'm 5+ days without one, and I really don't want one. When I get the urge now and then, I just vape a bit and I'm good.

Best of luck to you, and welcome to ECF.

Congrats to you too Pappy! Can't wait till we both celebrate the first year of being tobacco free! Good luck my friend!

Welcome JerryB and congrats! 2 weeks is a huge milestone. I have found after 2 weeks of no cigs they smell bad. I noticed my car stunk. Go get it professionally cleaned. Go to the dentist for a cleaning. I'm serious. Round up all your ashtrays and lighters and dispose of them. You don't need them anymore. Good job Jerry, it's not easy but stick with it. I did and I'm not ever going back.

Thank you IronAp!!!
I smoked cigarettes from age 14 and gave them up 26 years ago. Unfortunately, I immediately took up cigars (3 a day - very strong ones) - and here's the really bad news: I INHALED them! Ugh! I didn't think I could ever quit.
I've amassed a large collection of cigars that I've been aging for years (probably worth nearly 2 thousand dollars).
I'm trying to find out how I might sell them - but my wife says to hell with the money, and just dump them. Until I resolve what to do with them, I go into the room where they're stored (to maintain the humidity they need) and look at them like they're a nest of rattlesnakes! Honestly - the sight of those things that I once 'loved' repulses me now!
The good news (especially for those of you who are still struggling) is that making the change was much easier than I ever imagined. The fact is that I actually enjoy vaping more than I ever enjoyed smoking!

This is awesome to hear! I hope to join you very soon myself. I am also new to all this but I am getting my first good starter kit and after reading success stories like this I am getting more pumped about switching over!

Thanks!

-Jason

Thank you Jason!
I'd wish you good luck - but you won't need any. Start vaping and you WILL QUIT SMOKING! It's that simple. Until your kit arrives, keep visualizing yourself happy that you've made this change! Congrats in advance!

Woooo hoooo!!! Congrats and welcome!! I smoked for 23 years, started at 14 too. Heaven help me, I still can't figure out why I did, but getting free was a constant losing battle ever after. Every quit failed... this vaping thing has changed my whole world, and after three months I am even more in love with it. I was as thrilled as you in the beginning, but trust me... it just keeps getting better. :D

Thank you Bunnyscrunt! It does indeed keep getting better!

Welcome to your new life Jerry. It only gets easier to stay with it from here. Don't forget to reward yourself now by buying more cool stuff to vape with.

Thank you Fuzzione! Rewards... definitely!!! I buy new liquids and carts nearly every day! What fun!!!
I don't know what my next PV will be after the eGo C, but I love researching all of the goodies out there!

That's awesome Jerry!! I've smoked 35 years, and just got my kit tonite, filled a few cartos and started vaping. I've been analog free for 1 hr and 28 minutes. lol Hey, gotta start somewhere right? lol

~ Deb ~

Hehe Deb... welcome!! It started there for me too, all of us really. It's like some weird sci-fi thing... the quitting really takes care of itself if you start vaping. Don't be scared to try new rigs, new flavours... you will find your perfect fit and it will be bliss. :)

I like to think that every cigarette skipped is a step in the right direction. So, you're on the right track. Congratulations to you both, Deb and Jerry.

Congrats and Welcome from another 40+ year smoker. I've been tobacco free for 2 months and it still amazes me.

Now that you've been away from it for awhile my only piece of advice is to refuse that first cigarette. Refuse to smell like an ashtray again. Just refuse to let tobacco back into your life. Don't test it to see if you can handle it or to see what it tastes like now, just refuse to go back.

Best of luck to you and don't be a stranger around here.

Thank you Tiny! Great advice! No worries here - I refuse to even touch tobacco ever again! What helped make the transition easier for me was that I spent the last two years re-conditioning my thinking. Ever time I'd smoke, I'd keep reaffirming how disgusting it was, and that I was only doing it for the nicotine. The only problem was that I didn't know about vaping. About a month or so ago, I purchased a disposable N-Joy from a local 7 Eleven. It wasn't very satisfying, but I knew in my heart that there had to be something more... something better. I went online... and low and behold... I 'discovered' the universe of vaping!!!!!! I did a lot of research, bought a Joye 510 kit... and the rest is history!!!
