I am new to re-buildables. I have an eGrip with a rba base. After I 'pulse' a coil with their 510 adapter either to fix coil shape or to de-gunk it I get a funny taste....Any suggestions? Thanks

I use a dental brush to get the ash stuff off. DenTek Easy Brush Cleaners Standard | Walgreens I gently brush off the coil and the inside of the coil.

You should be able to find them at any drug store.

Also, another thing you can do is rinse the coil off after it cools.

I rinse, then dry-burn 5-6 times (pulses)... then rinse again under fast-running water... then shake. I look at the coil and if there is ANYTHING left, I do it over, until it looks very clean and there is no scent coming from it when I pulse it. That's about it.

I do add a new wick after i pulse it, i am using organic Japanese cotton. i have tried cellulose 100% rayon and i have never gotten a good taste off of it and i am not sure why. i have a lot of great reviews about its pure taste.

The reason I asked it because I get a weird taste no matter what wicking material I use. It takes a couple of minutes for it to go away and I wondered if that might be (at least part) of what you are tasting. Does the funny taste diminish as you vape or get stronger?
