I just bought an AG-126 charger and was wonedring if anyone can help with some questions. I put a ticket into the vendor but they are now closed until Monday so I thought I could reach out to the ECF community. Does anyone know if two different types of batteries can be charged on this unit simultaneously? I am looking to charge an UltraFire LC 14500 on one side and an IMR 14500 on the other. Can this be done? Also, could the charger do an 18650 on one side and a 14500 on the other simultaneously? If not, what does “two independent charging channels” mean? Also, provided I can charge two batteries at once, why is there only one charging light? Thanks all.

It shouldn't matter which goes where. They recommend single battery charging to be done on "channel one". Since batteries typically get charged at various states of drain (unless you drain yours to the cut-off every time) you shouldn't have to overthink it much. Throw the batteries on there and if you pull one off leave the remaining battery on, or move to, channel one. This is what I've been doing anyway. So far so good. Have been doing it this way, every day, for several months now.

Additionally, I have at least a dozen of these chargers out to various "customers" of mine and no word yet on any failure or strange behavior. And I seriously doubt all of these people are following my instructions...LOL

Dual channel chargers were designed to charge sets. In sets we mean 2 batts with the same characteristics usually use in stacked conditions (series)

It is not advisable to mix and match batteries of different sizes or different chemistries and charge them at the same time, on the same charger. I will not go into a long discussion wrt this.

Welcome to Battery University or a shorter (layman's version) Vape Central: Battery - FAQ

There are chargers than can charge different cell sizes and chemistries out there, but not something we use as vapers.
