AGA T+ Hot Spots

Just got an AGA T+ rebuildable and I like the taste and vapor better than the Tornado tank RCS I'm used to. The only problem is I'm constantly getting hot spots and burnt taste. I'm careful to torch the wick well before installing and torch the wire before wrapping. I get rid of all of the hot spots before I fill the tank and everything is fine for a while then a new hot spot shows up. It's hard to get rid of them once the wick is wet and I've set it on fire several time while trying to get all of the coils to light up.

I'm running 32 ga kanthal on 400 mesh stainless at about 2.8 ohms on a Tornado tank RCS (3.7 volt) power head. Anybody got some experience with this that they would like to share? Thanks.

I've solved the problem temporarily by putting a piece of hollow silica wick over the stainless wick to insulate the coil. I've been torching the end of the mesh wick to get a layer of oxidation and I think it is so thin that any disturbance causes a short. I'm going to try and get a layer of carbon built up by dipping the end of the wick in juice, setting it on fire and letting it burn out. I've been torching during this and I think it's burning the carbon layer off. Not sure I like the Genesis style of attys because of this problem.
