What size should I cut a #500 mesh piece before rolling? It took me forever to get a non hotspot coil with my original mesh and now the new 500 I can't get rid of the top wire hotspot doesn't matter how much I adjust. Anyone recommend a specific size of mesh or where to buy bigger nuts for the positive post? Thanks

roll a solid SS mesh with 70mm (width) and constantly try it on the wick-hole.
as for the top wire hs, take out the middle knurled nut and add 2 washers:

I like using 28 or 30 g Kanthal wire in my aga's. I use approximately 2 inches of mesh. The thicker guages seem to do better with hot spot elimination. If I have one that will not comply, a washer from the ViVi nova top seems to fit well. I rareluy use a washer though, I tilt the mesh towards the center post, and make the bridge between the mesh and post as small as possible.
