Yeah, there's no comparison between the quality of the real DID and the mini clone. The only thing I don't like, and it's a small thing: You almost have to use the 'drill bit' method of making coils; because the size of the ground screw and large wick make it difficult to wrap a coil with the wick in place. If you're used to the 'drill bit' method, it's not a problem. But sometimes, I like to freehand my set ups.

I see what you mean.. I like to freehand my wicks also and at the moment, I don't have anything large enough to fit right in the wick hole to use the "drill bit" method. Freehanding wasn't too tough. Much more vapor than the clone! I'm a bit surprised, the draw is almost as airy as the zap but I love it :D I'm not really digging the tobacco flavor that the seller had in it.. I washed it but I guess I should have removed the o-rings and unscrewed the center post also when I washed it.. it's kinda overpowering my peanutbutter flavor:unsure:

Best of all I love that I can screw the top cap all the way down and it stops at the perfect spot in front of the wick! With my clone, I had to unscrew it half way and it was so easy to knock it off.

Using 30g and 4 wraps, my coil came out to 2ohms and I'm vaping it at 4.2v. Blah.. I'm probably going to have to take it apart and wash it again to get this tobacco flavor out

edit: I took it apart completely and rewashed it.. I had to use the replacement 0-rings and insulators because they still reeked of tobacco. Got it all back together. coil reads 1.1! A little low for the vari but it's handling it.. vaping 3.3v right now. Much better flavor! More vapor than I've ever EVER had!

oh yea not all materials can handle it but i have taken stuff like the insulators and rings and washed them in iso alcohol and it usually kills any flavor (wash old juice bottles with it too.

good tip about ibtanked, i think they should give me volume discounts by now lol

I don't like washing any vape stuff in iso. I use Everclear. I rarely take RBAs apart, unless I have to replace a broken tank, heheh. When I clean, I just squirt Everclear in, shake it around, and pull it back out with the syringe. If I happen to be using a wick with a center hole, I squirt Everclear down through the wick with a 20 or 21ga needle. Dry burn the coils, and brush them up with a Dentek brush, to get the crud off.

Thanks for the tips. I am so blown away by this thing! I let it sit for a day, afraid I would be disappointed but it far exceeded my hopes. I thought the main difference would be the top cap but with this big, fat wick, its wicking without tilting and no burnt hits at all. I'm still running the stock setup on my zap and like but not love it like I do the did. I'm going to recoil it tomorrow without the insulator and see if its as good as this.

Mmvapor has some blemished minis for $30 less. I like the full size though.

Maybe the super low resistance has something to do with the awesome vape I'm getting.
