What's that hole supposed to do ? Is that suppose to be the ground connection? I use the base for Ground.

I just picked one of these up the other day, first atomizer for me.
I'm used to rebuilding my protank coils so I have no problem in that department, I think my issue may simply be ignorance on how the product is to be used, and how it should be used with my particular juice and vaping style.
I use VaporPimps high VG stuff. The juice (the first juice I put in here) is his butterscotch tobacco. It is dang delicious. I also loaded my protank3 with the stuff. I think it may simply be way too thick for any wicking style device(80%VG but extra high viscosity). PT3 started drawing reeeaaaly hard after 1/2 tank went thru the coil. Hits with the T2 are simply dismal. I get 1/4 the vapor as with the PT3, and it burns the back of my throat bad. I have tried multiple coil/wick configurations. the ss mesh coil it came with just confused the heck out of me, and the coil wire was way too thin for anything. I have 2mm silica with 32g kanthal. Right now I have it set up with dual wicks/coils at about 1.5ohms. It seems to hit a bit better if I drip directly on the coils, but not much. Mech mod Smok Magneto with MKNE 18650 batt.

tldr, should I expect the juice to wick up to the coil, or do I need to invert the tank to let gravity wet the wicks?
Plan on getting some 28g kanthal and hollow 3mm ekowool next paycheck, if that will help.
