popabogart, I'm liking your posts not because of what you're going through, but because your descriptions are giving me the most funny mental images. :) I hope you get your order soon.

Yeah, I need to stop being such a snide smarta$$ with my trite posts. I'm really not very frustrated as I try to go with the punches and try to find the humor in the intricacies of corporate logistics.

Have you tried the others?

I tried both last night, but they seemed a bit off. Of course they were only a few hours old. The Orient Whisper was ok, but the cherry didn't seem to have much cherry flavor at all....kinda perfume like maybe...not too good with descriptions.

I got a couple other juices in yesterday too that were pre-steeped....so I can wait. Plus I still have plenty of strawberry vanilla cake too.

This is my first order of custom juice...so still learning.

Hitting the sweetened version of Spiced Pumpkin Latte this afternoon. When going for a refill, I had spoken to Wlad on the phone and he told me he actually prefers this one sweetened. Mine's not yet a week old yet (and has had only a 1 hour ride in the ultrasonic so far) so I can't definitively say which I like better myself, however as Wlad said, the sweetener doesn't really sweeten this one up so much as mellow out some of the harsher tones, and so far I'd have to say I agree, though I'm looking forward to seeing how much more it steeps out since I really don't want it to mellow out too much. I quite liked it unsweetened as well, having torn through that 30ml bottle in a only 2 months. I'll report back after a few more weeks with it, and probably stick it in the ultrasonic for at least 1 or 2 more hours also.

Shari, congrats on the new grandson! :thumb:

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and that 2014 is being good to ya so far. :)

Oh, ok. I'm glad you're not one of those don't touch it until x days pass because internet people told me so kind of vaper. Hopefully they come together for you. :)

p.s. You're not referring to cherry in Orient Whisper, right? Because the fruit in that is lychee. Disregard me if I'm assuming wrong.

I usually give it the smell test, and taste a small drop on my finger when it arrives. I can usually tell from that if it needs to steep...usually if it's too perfumy. If I feel like it needs to steep, I put it aside for at least a week, and then retaste. In my experience, this is the best way for me to not vape something too early. First impressions are important, you know. Once I vape an "unripe" juice, it's hard for me to get that taste out of my memory and give it a fair shot when it is ready.

I try juices as soon as I can. Rarely has a juice left such a bad impression on me that I couldn't bear to return to it. I can only think of one I dreaded to retaste, but I still did it. And it wasn't an Ahlusion juice. :p

I also like to try a juice right away because if it's one I end up recommending I can also say if it changes with age, and I'll find out if I should order it ahead of time to let steep, but I don't do that as much as I'd like. Usually I have so much on hand I put new juices aside for a while without tasting them. If I can hold off on purchasing and vape up all my stuff that's growing old, I'd like to start keeping my collection smaller and tasting juices that are new to me earlier. It's also fun to see what changes a juice makes on it's journey.

I'm glad I tasted my last order of Ahl right away, that way I knew with CWW how rich the caramel is at the beginning and how it backs off with age. So if someone says they just got a bottle and finds the caramel overwhelming, I can let them know to put it away for several weeks and it changes a lot. Meanwhile, I have a bunch of bottles from several vendors from Black Friday that I haven't tasted yet and probably won't for several more weeks. When I get to them, if I find one I love I'll have no idea if it started out good or if it took a few months to get there lol.

To clarify my initial taste tests:

- Contrary Cherry had very little cherry flavor…too much perfumy-ness.
- Orient Whisper, I could definitely taste the lychee, but it also had a bit of perfume/alchohol taste in with it. It was still good, but just hoping to get it better. It's been a while since I had lychee, so maybe its just the flavor.

Neither are "bad", but I am assuming both will get better. I didn't really expect them to be perfectly melded together as they were only a few hours old.

Had the tops off them for a little bit this afternoon, and been shaking them every chance I get. Not definitive, but even the smell is a bit different now that I have been airing them out and shaking. They are now in the "drawer" where the rest of my juices reside for a rest.

Any thing else I should be doing to help? Seen some other posts about heating, and shaking, and ultrasonics….some people are crazy. I am assuming that just plain old fashioned time is all that is really needed. But as I said, I am still learning….so if there is anything else I should be doing…let me know.

Yeah, I don't do the ultrasonic thing, I just buy so much juice that I couldn't possibly use it all in a reasonable amount of time ; inadvertent steeping, one would say. You're fine -- time will most likely do the trick.

Thanks for clarifying things. I think Contrary Cherry is a long steeper. I enjoyed Orient Whisper out the box, though.

Ok, along with great out of the box vapes, I propose we make a list of juices that are soothing enough to get people through a cold or the flu. :p
